Woo hoo!! We are so proud of her and can’t wait to see how she serves our community as a RN❤️
We have recently selected our top 4 Georgia Occupational Award for Leadership (GOAL) finalists.
All four of these students represent leadership and excellence in technical education! First up, we would like to introduce Anne Marie Hawkins, a Nursing Major at SRTC!
Anne's path to nursing was shaped by her own health challenges. Over the past several years, she underwent several emergency surgeries and hospitalizations that completely changed her perspective on healthcare. In those vulnerable, scary moments, she experienced firsthand the profound difference a truly compassionate and competent nurse can make. Those experiences ignited a calling within her to become the nurse she desperately needed during her own health struggles.
As she prepares to graduate from SRTC's Nursing Program, she's ready to take the next step working as a Registered Nurse. Anne plans to pursue her MSN and hopes to either teach future nurses or become a Nurse Practitioner.
What makes SRTC's program special to Anne is the hands-on, immersive learning experience and instructors who genuinely care about student success.
When she's not studying or working, you'll find her at home with her wonderful husband and two very spoiled dogs, or volunteering at The Pregnancy Center, where she channels her passion for community outreach.
Anne's advice to aspiring nurses is "Do it! Even if you doubt yourself! This challenging but rewarding program can change your life. SRTC provides the tools - you bring the determination. And support your classmates - you'll learn so much from each other!" 💙💚
