Happy Veterans Day! We are honored to have our very own Veterans representing the Army, Navy and Air Force who served during Vietnam, Korea and even WW2! Last week a couple of our Veterans were able to attend High Point University's Veterans Day Celebration. We had Thomasville High School's Junior ROTC stop by for a flag folding ceremony and today we made patriotic cupcakes!

Did you know today is National Stress Awareness Day? Today we took time for a little meditation (our biggest group yet by the way) to quiet our minds, relax our bodies and reflect on all we have to be thankful for! We also had a record crowd for arts and crafts where we made poppies for the upcoming Veterans Day!

Every Tuesday this month, we will be honoring some of our nation's heroes.

Today, I'm introducing you to WWII Veteran Jim Cain.

Jim is such a special man, and my life is better because I got to meet him and hear stories from his 2.5 years serving in the Navy.

It may be hard to believe this by looking at him, but he is 99 years old!

What a sweet morning and even sweeter trick-or-treaters! The kids from Honey Bunch Daycare stopped by this morning and absolutely made our day! Luna the dog made sure everyone was on their best behavior!

We're gearing up for Halloween and are excited to have trick-or-treaters from Honey Bunch Daycare. We are asking for candy donations to fill our candy monster, particularly for preschool age kids. Donations can be placed inside the box. Monetary donations can be given to Vonnie or Onika.

Boy, what a day! We kicked things off with incredible music with Pat Wade, had one of our residents interviewed by WXII 12 for a Veterans Day special, quieted our minds with Mindful Meditation then wrapped things up with the cutest little ghost craft! We should sleep good tonight!

We are so fortunate to have such an active and engaged group! We had so many people in exercise this morning that we ran out of weights and had to use water bottles!
