On this Thanksgiving, at HCA HealthONE Mountain Ridge, we are grateful for our partnership with Food Bank of the Rockies to help our communities experiencing food insecurity. No doubt, we are better together - at work and in our communities. Our larger network, HCA Healthcare's commitment to community goes beyond clinical care. In 2024, the organization contributed more than $48.5 million in enterprise giving to community organizations, while colleagues volunteered 240,000 hours and contributed $18 million to community organizations - matched by HCA Healthcare. At our recent mobile food pantry this month, we distributed 22,095 pounds of food to more than 400 families.

is an irregular or rapid heartbeat, also known as atrial fibrillation (AFib), often triggered by binge drinking. Alcohol consumption tends to spike between Thanksgiving and New Year's Day so, while holiday heart syndrome can happen any time of year, it's most common during the holiday season. And it can show up when you least expect it – especially after too much alcohol, stress or salty food – so be on the lookout for these warning signs:

😴 Fatigue
😵‍💫 Dizziness
💓 Heart palpitations
😮‍💨 Difficulty breathing
💢 Chest discomfort

If you notice any of these symptoms, it could be more than just the holiday hustle and bustle. Know where to go in case of an emergency: HCAHealthONE.com/ER

The American Heart Association and American Stroke Association’s Getting to the Heart of Stroke™ initiative, nationally supported by the HCA Healthcare Foundation and advanced through our larger HCA Healthcare network, empowers people living with AFib or stroke to better manage their condition. Together, we are working to foster cardiovascular health, prevent stroke and improve patient outcomes by increasing cardiology and neurology collaboration, deploying evidence-based education and interventions, and identifying and minimizing health disparities.

Hot flashes, sleep issues, brain fog? There’s new context on hormone therapy you should know.

"We've know for a long time that their are profound benefits for women, especially younger women in your 40s and 50s," says Dr. Cindy Long, OB/GYN with HCA HealthONE. "Hormone replacement therapy reduces the risk of heart attacks, stroke, osteoporosis and bone fractures. There is also mounting evidence that it can help protect the brain against memory loss and Alzheimer's."

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration will remove the "black box" warning labels on many hormone therapy drugs used for menopause and perimenopause symptoms — a major turnaround that's likely to encourage more women to seek treatment.

Greta was born, weighing only two pounds, 13 ounces and she survived a one-in-a-million diagnosis thanks to the neonatal intensive care team (NICU) team at HCA HealthONE Rocky Mountain Children’s: https://bit.ly/3XlO3rL

This , we’re celebrating our tiniest patients and the incredible caregivers at HCA HealthONE who support them and their families. As a proud partner of March of Dimes, HCA Healthcare is committed to improving maternal and neonatal outcomes through clinical data, pioneering research and compassionate care.

Each year, more than 200,000 babies are born in hospitals across our larger HCA Healthcare network – and some arrive earlier than expected. According to March of Dimes, about 1 in 10 babies in the U.S. are born prematurely. This means they enter the world before 37 weeks of pregnancy.

We headed to HCA HealthONE Rose, but the medical team didn’t find a definitive reason for the baby’s distress. My OB/GYN also had a gut feeling about the situation and soon, the team decided I would deliver the baby via C-section.
