Fevers can be scary, but they shouldn't be feared! I always tell my patients
"Sick child, watch and wait. Floppy child, don't hesitate!"
It isn't about the number on the thermometer it is about how the child is acting. My main rule of thumb is; if the child is acting sick, still drinking fluids and urinating, support their system, don't suppress it. If the child is floppy and lethargic, not drinking or urinating; then it is time to seek medical care.
This is a quick little guide you can reference regarding fevers, supportive care, and a few holistic things to help them stay comfortable.
