Did you know your upper back plays a big role in healing your core?

Limited thoracic mobility can change how you breathe and move — making it harder for your core and diaphragm to work together.

Improving mid-back mobility helps restore pressure balance, supports better posture, and promotes true core healing after diastasis recti.

If you’re dealing with Diastasis recti, give us a call today. We can help.

Myth: You have to wait until 6 weeks postpartum to start pelvic floor physical therapy.

Fact: You can begin as early as 2 weeks postpartum!

Early sessions focus on gentle recovery — not internal work.
We’ll help with:
-Gentle manual therapy for pain and swelling
-Core + pelvic floor reconnection
-Light mobility and guided stretching

We will wait to perform an internal exam until you are cleared at your 6 week appointment. But there is SO much we can do prior to the 6 week mark to accelerate healing.

Starting early can help you feel more supported, reduce discomfort, and set the foundation for a smoother recovery when you’re cleared for exercise.

Myth: Painful periods are just part of being a woman.

Fact: Light cramping for a day or two can be normal, but if your pain keeps you from living your life, it’s time to look deeper.

Painful cycles can be linked to something more serious, such as endometriosis, inflammation, or pelvic floor tension.

Pelvic floor PT can help by improving pelvic mobility, calming inflammation, and reducing pain through red light therapy, gentle manual techniques, and movement-based care.

Gentle exercise and stretching can also support pain relief and hormone balance.

If your period pain feels more than “normal,” give us a call today. We can help.

MYTH:

A lot of people think their doctor will always catch pelvic floor issues and send them to PT.

The truth?

We’ve heard WAY too many stories of “my doctor said I didn’t need pelvic PT.”

Sometimes you have to be your own best advocate. And in California, you don’t need a doctor’s referral to see a pelvic floor PT.

If you’re experiencing leakage, heaviness, pain, or just feel like something’s “off,” you don’t have to wait for someone to tell you it’s time—call Cappuccino PT today!

Have you ever had to advocate for your own care?
