Hey Folks! Please let me know if you or your clients have serious scars they would like to volunteer for our class. The age of the scar doesn't matter, as long as it is completely healed (4-6 weeks usually) and the more complicated and troublesome the better. Could be from surgery, accidents, joint replacements, pregnancy (c-sections), cancer, burns, radiation, etc etc.

After teaching this class in other places, Molly and I are thrilled and honored to be offering this wonderful work right here in our home town. If you are a hands-on practitioner (structural integrator, massage therapist, physical therapist, chiropractor, nurse, etc), this class will change the way you work and see the body. And even if you have taken scarwork previously, it is a class worth repeating!

We will be teaching some basic ways to work with scar tissue that are:
* easy to learn
* highly effective
* gentle and light
* easily integrated into your practice immediately

Two weeks of Visceral Manipulation class taught by Alyssa Dodson has enhanced my perspective of structural support. What a dynamic core we have, with each of the organs having its own motility and function, which contributes to the function of the whole system. Amazing stuff and glad to add this to my practice!

A Recent Scar Work Testimonial:
"A little over two years ago I started noticing a pain in my left hip and a tightness that ran all the way down my left leg. Sometimes the pain receded and sometimes it got worse. I went to the chiropractor and to a pelvic physical therapist, both helped but only to a degree. Last June I decided to try a different approach and went to Dawn to work on my c-section scar. By the end of the first appointment, I felt completely different. My legs felt lighter and as did my entire left side. I had one more appointment with Dawn a month or so after and since then I have been pain free. I cannot recommend Dawn enough. I had resigned myself to the fact that my hip pain was something I would have to live with, I can't tell you how happy I am that it wasn't true!"

Just returned from assisting Molly Hackett in teaching a class -- Scarwork: Integrating Scars Into the Fascial Web at the Guild of Structural Integration in Salt Lake City, Utah. The students of the class were exceptional practitioners who worked on 22 models from the community with a wide host of scars and had outstanding results. What a privledge and honor to be teaching this amazing work of my mentor -- Rolfer, Sharon Wheeler. I am humbled and so grateful.

People I got to see today:
* 8 1/2 month pregnant mama
* Woman recovering from major traumatic injuries
* 7-yr old who has recently had a palate expander installed
* 19-yr old woman with severe scoliosis

Structural Integration can be helpful in all of these scenarios, which makes the work very interesting, rewarding, and continues to teach me so much about connecting deeply with myself and others. I love what I do!
