Mr. Meow may look like a vampire this October—but his real bite is giving him trouble. 🐾 This sweet boy came to us with painful dental issues, including stomatitis, swollen gums, and tartar buildup. He may even need a few teeth extracted.

The good news: with dental surgery, Mr. Meow can finally be pain-free and enjoy mealtime again! His procedure is estimated to cost $1,803–$2,042. We're about halfway to our fundraising goal. Can you help us? 💕

🐾 Help Mr. Meow Smile Again 🐾

Mr. Meow is a 7-year-old kitty rescued after being dumped at the Wendy’s in Thurmont. 💔 Right now, he can only lick soupy food because his teeth are in such bad shape. He meows constantly — not only because he loves attention, but also because he’s in pain.

✨ We’re helping raise $2,000 for his dental treatment at the Emmitsburg vet clinic. Every dollar and every bag of supplies brings him closer to eating, purring, and living pain-free.

As a thank you, all donors will be entered into a raffle for a Labubu collectible or a Fall Basket. 🎁

🌟 Bright Smile, Bright Future

We’re so happy to have our fall intern with us this season! She’s a local high school student in the dental assisting program at FCC and has already made such a difference in our office.

She shows up on time, jumps in to help wherever needed, eases the load for our main assistant, and keeps everyone smiling with her positive energy. We’re truly proud of her.

Moments like these remind me how important it is to open doors for others — whether you’re a student just starting out or a mom looking for a new career in healthcare. 🙏 Gratitude - is the only word that comes to mind as I reflect on my 12 years of journey at Thurmont Smiles.
Today is my dad’s birthday (he is in heaven). My husband and I decided to go forward with the purchase of the practice from Dr. Dexter on this day 12 years ago.
The only intention I had was to make a true difference in my patients’ lives when I was signing the documents. That intention still remains true to this day.
I did not know how the journey was going to unfold. As a new owner, I had to learn how to manage the practice , how to lead my employees, how to improve as a clinician to serve our patients the best possible way. So much learning has happened in past 12 years and I can truly say that I’m a better person, a better leader and a better doctor today because I decided to take that leap of faith.
We have helped people smile, function and get healthier. I truly hope that you feel that we’ve made a difference.
I could not have done this without the support of my backbone- my husband, my family, my employees, colleagues and business associates and above all- YOU- our patients. 🙏

When the sun’s out, the team steps out!
Today’s meeting was all about fresh air, fresh ideas, and improving our new patient experience. We even tackled some tricky insurance conversations—with a smile! It was refreshing to step outside the usual routine and connect as a team. Small changes like these keep us energized and focused on giving our patients the best care possible.
