Mercy Health — Tiffin Hospital had a gnome-tastic time at the Seneca County Opportunity Center’s Hoot in the Park event!

Our Quality Manager—disguised as a garden gnome—teamed up with one of our favorite friends dressed as toothpaste to pass out toothbrushes to kids. Together, they reminded everyone to keep those Halloween smiles cavity-free after all the sweet treats!

We love supporting our community and promoting healthy habits in fun ways.

We’re in active negotiations with Humana and are committed to a fair resolution that ensures you and your family continue receiving the high-quality care you deserve. Your health is our priority, and we’re doing everything we can to maintain your in-network access to the Mercy Health facilities and caregivers you know and trust.

Please join us in congratulating Chaplain Ben Sandrock on being selected as the winner of the 2025 Catherine McAuley Lifetime Achievement Award. Ben was recognized at our annual ceremony during Mercy Week.

Part of Ben’s nomination read, “Ben’s presence in the hospital is a true blessing. As a Chaplain, he approaches every patient interaction with compassion, sincerity, and grace. His genuine desire to comfort and connect with others through faith leaves a lasting impression on patients, families, and staff alike. His peaceful spirit, joyful demeanor, and ever-present smile create a calming and uplifting atmosphere wherever he goes."

Beyond Ben’s work at the hospital, his dedication to serving the community is both broad and impactful. He serves as the pastor at Calvary Chapel Tiffin, is a worship leader, and acts as the chaplain for Tiffin University’s football team. He also volunteers his time coaching youth soccer and football, roles through which he mentors, encourages, and guides young people with integrity and purpose.

Ben is a true example of Christlike love in action and a living reflection of the values of Catherine McAuley. His daily commitment to service, faith, and kindness makes him a most deserving recipient of the Catherine McAuley Lifetime Achievement Award.

Mercy Health — Tiffin Hospital is once again inviting women in the community to an evening of health, fun and fellowship. The annual “Healthy Happy Hour” returns on Tuesday, October 7, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.

“Healthy Happy Hour is an event designed to help area women celebrate their health and wellbeing and to give them resources on how to stay healthy while balancing their often very busy lives,” said Jana Martin, director, community relations, Mercy Health – Tiffin Hospital.

The event will feature Mercy Health experts, who will share tips on how to stay healthy at any age, along with complimentary blood pressure checks and bone density screenings. Local vendors will also be on hand, offering jewelry, clothing, and specialty items for purchase. Hors d’oeuvres and crafts will also be available.

There is no charge to attend, and no registration is required.

We’re excited to welcome Megan Smith, APRN-CNP, to Tiffin's Mercy Health – Heart & Vascular Institute team!

Megan brings 12 years of experience as a cardiovascular ICU nurse to her new role as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Inspired from a young age to help others, she’s built her career on compassion, collaboration and a deep commitment to patient care.

With a strong interest in cardiovascular health, Megan is passionate about preventive medicine and chronic disease management, especially in adult and older adult populations. She believes in partnering with patients, taking time to listen, understand their goals and empower them to take an active role in their health.

Originally from Willard, Megan is grateful for the opportunity to serve close to home and make a lasting difference in her community. Outside of work, she loves spending time with her daughter, being outdoors, crafting, reading, cooking and staying active.
