We are proud to continue our support of the Seneca County Student Career Day at Tiffin Columbian High School. Each year, this impactful event brings together approximately 1,000 students from seven schools, creating valuable opportunities for connection, learning and inspiration.

It is always a rewarding experience to collaborate with fellow organizations to help shape the future workforce. We had the privilege of engaging with students interested in health care careers—providing meaningful insights into various career pathways and offering guidance on the education and training needed to achieve their goals.

Investing in students today helps build a stronger, healthier community tomorrow. We look forward to continuing this important partnership for years to come.

Making a splash in our community! For 46 years, the Tiffin YMCA’s 4th Grade Swim Program has been making a lasting impact—teaching students essential water-safety skills, building confidence, and introducing a lifelong skill: swimming.

This year, Mercy Health — Tiffin Hospital helped make the experience even more meaningful by providing towels to every participating student. While simple, this thoughtful gesture goes a long way—each towel serves as a reminder to these young swimmers that their community is behind them, supporting their growth and safety.

Programs like this don’t just teach kids how to swim—they help save lives, foster confidence and create positive memories that last well beyond the pool.

We are happy to invest in our youth and support a program that continues to make waves in our community.

Across our footprint, we are continuing our commitment to improving access to care, strengthening well-being and supporting healthier communities, as exhibited in our recently released 2025 Community Health Annual Report. This report is a snapshot of how our ministry continues to put good to work beyond our walls.

“Our report goes beyond data to reflect the commitment of our Community Health teams to advancing health and well-being through mission-driven action,” said Gina Hemenway, interim vice president of Community Health. “Each success represents meaningful progress in addressing the factors that shape health — such as food and nutrition security, access to care, affordable housing and social connection — so we can build healthier, more resilient communities.”

Discover a new era in heart health at Tiffin Hospital! Mercy Health — Tiffin Hospital has recently launched its new Pritikin Intensive Cardiac Rehab (ICR) program, a comprehensive, scientifically proven approach to heart health that significantly enhances its existing traditional cardiac rehabilitation services. This innovative program is designed to provide patients with an advanced, lifestyle-based approach to recovery and long-term wellness.

Cardiac rehabilitation is a critical component of recovery for patients who have experienced a heart attack, undergone bypass surgery, or received a stent, as well as those managing chronic heart conditions like angina or heart failure. While traditional programs offer vital exercise and education components, the Pritikin ICR program expands these services into a more comprehensive, 72-session format that integrates robust nutritional education, behavioral health counseling and personalized fitness plans.

The Pritikin ICR program is founded on the proven principles developed at the world-renowned Pritikin Longevity Center in Florida. The program is certified by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and has been shown not only to slow the progression of heart disease but also to often reverse it by focusing on the root causes through impactful lifestyle changes.

"When I found Dr. Gregory Johnston, I knew he was the one who was going to change my life for the better," shared Brittnee, a 34-year-old mom of five who made the brave decision to take her life back for herself and for her children. To Brittnee, finding the right surgeon made all the difference. Dr. Johnston and team are passionate about helping patients improve their daily lives. In her 30s, Brittnee decided it was time to take back control of her life. She sought out Mercy Health – Perrysburg Weight Management Solutions.

“I have always had weight problems,” Brittnee shares. “I was put on steroids at a young age for severe asthma, and that contributed to my weight gain.” Despite years of trying everything from calorie counting to yo-yo dieting, nothing seemed to work—especially after having her children back-to-back in her early 20s. Everything changed when Brittnee welcomed her youngest child. “When I had my last child, weighing in at 400 lbs, I didn’t know how I was going to be able to run after my child.” That moment became her turning point.

Today, Brittnee is beyond grateful. “I’m thankful for the opportunity to basically start my life over and get to LIVE.” Her only regret? “Not doing this sooner.” Brittnee’s journey is a powerful reminder that it’s never too late to choose yourself—and your future.
