Today, surrounding counties came together for the first NWOSDA TU training of the year! We started with Marion County’s Investigative Agent Sam Grisham, who shared insights on supporting and advocating for individuals in the community, including Keith’s Law and the Blue Envelope Program to help communication with the police and people with disabilities. In the afternoon, Ottawa County's SASSY group and Good Life facilitators presented on the “Hats of Service,” highlighting different roles: white hat (only cares about themselves), black hat (negative), red hat (know-it-all), and green hat (positive and helpful).

Thank you to all our speakers and to Erie, Hancock, Henry, Lucas, Marion, Ottawa, Paulding, Sandusky, Defiance, Richland, and William counties for sponsoring alongside Seneca County!

Heaven’s art project last week was not only creative, fun, and cool but also a great option for those who may need a fidget toy.

With the help of her Community teacher, Heaven created these 3D printed keychains with letters that click when you press them. What a great option to add to a backpack or to a set of keys.

Vy Young is an independent provider offering the best care for her son:

During the student's last Healthy Heroes lesson with Nurse Cassie, they practiced good teeth hygiene. They practiced brushing their teeth, talked about healthy teeth habits, and had lots of fun learning how to care for their smiles.

Nurse Cassie used tools and graphics so that everyone could participate.
Way to go, Healthy Heroes!

✨This week's Fun Friday in the Vocational 2 classroom featured a sunny day and a sensory chalk path. ✨

Outdoor sensory pathways offer children the opportunity to gain the benefits of sensory motor skill work. These paths incorporate proprioceptive input, vestibular input, and visual input to meet sensory needs. They are a fun and powerful tool to help children regulate as well support gross motor coordination.

We encourage you to try creating your own, if you do, post your creations below. We would love to see!!
