Oasis is so many things for so many people — and like any true community organization, our heartbeat is simple: serve the community.

Our new Office Manager, Harriet Felts, embodies that mission every single day. She’s a gem in our organization and a steady presence for so many women in Tifton and beyond. Harriet has been walking alongside women in this community for years, offering support, compassion, and a safe place to grow.

She leads our women‑specific groups every Monday, pours into peers throughout the week, and somehow still finds the energy to show up for partners like Ruth’s Cottage and The Patticake House with the same warmth and generosity.

Just… don’t come looking for her on Thursdays — even legends need days off 🤣

We’re proud of the work Harriet is doing, proud of the partnership with RCPCH, and proud to keep expanding the ways Oasis engages and uplifts women in our community!

Thank you to Harriet Felts from Oasis Recovery Community Organization, for bringing by some journals for our ladies in shelter. AS a certified addiction counselor, her work is so important, and we are grateful that she shares so much with RCPCH! Harriet, thank you for investing in RCPCH and the work we do with victims.

If you only knew everything happening in this picture…

What you’re seeing is more than a couple of peers relaxing in some comfy chairs.
This is safety.
This is family.
This is recovery in real life.

With no movie theater left in Tifton, Oasis RCO decided our peers still deserved a place to enjoy sober hobbies, connection, and a night out that doesn’t put their recovery at risk. So we built it — and of course we went above and beyond.

These are fully reclining, automatic, super‑comfortable chairs with charging ports, surround sound, and a 100" screen. But the real magic isn’t the equipment.

It’s what’s happening around it.

Look closer and you’ll see:
- A child who is welcome, safe, and included — because recovery shouldn’t separate families.
- Peers who feel comfortable enough to kick their feet up and breathe.
- A Friday night that used to be dangerous now becoming a sober cinematic experience.
- Friendship forming in real time.
- A space where no one has to pretend, hide, or feel “less than.”
- A community that shows up for each other when the world doesn’t offer many places to go.
- Healing happening quietly, in the background, through laughter and shared moments.
- A reminder that recovery isn’t just meetings — it’s building a life worth staying for.

This is what Oasis does.
This is what recovery looks like.
And this is what our peers deserve — every single day.

🚨 HB 657 PASSES House of Representatives 🚨 The Georgia Council for Recovery endorsed HB 657 by Representative Leesa Hagan passes the House with a near unanimous vote

HB 657 will legally define an RCO to protect the integrity of community-based peer programs

Very thankful to Speaker Jon Burns, the General Assembly Working Group on Addiction and Recovery and, especially, Representative Hagan

🌟 HUGE Shout Out to Legacy Behavioral Health 🌟

Last month, Legacy showed up big for Oasis — not once, but twice — by hosting QPR Su***de Prevention Trainings right here in our building.

They provided one full session just for our staff, ensuring that the Oasis team is fully prepared, confident, and equipped to respond effectively in those critical moments when a life may depend on it. Then they opened the doors again for a second training, giving our wider community access to this powerful, life‑saving resource.

We’re proud to say that Oasis is now officially certified with QPR Gatekeepers — and we couldn’t have done it without the incredible facilitators who led the way.

👏 Jennifer Taylor
👏 Teresa Morrison
👏 Ashley Prane

Your time, expertise, and heart for this work make a real difference.

And to Legacy Behavioral Health — thank you for everything you do to support health, wellness, and hope in our community. We’re grateful for your partnership and your commitment to saving lives. 💙💚
