🎉Community Partner Shoutout!

🚗Our Community Outreach Coordinators have been busy traveling across South Georgia building connections with community partners for our Rural Opioid Harm-Reduction Project ( ). We’re continually inspired by the people and organizations working every day to strengthen their communities and want to highlight them here!

📣Oasis Recovery Community Organization in Tifton, GA is a peer-led recovery community organization supporting individuals and families impacted by substance use. Through advocacy, education, and recovery support services, they create a safe and empowering space where people can find connection, hope, and long-term recovery resources. (And they may have the best movie theater in Tift County!)

👏Thank you for the amazing work you do in the community!!

🖤 Collaboration in Action: DPH x ROHR x OASIS x TCSO 💙💚❤️

Today we finally started packing our bags (THEY NEED A NAME!!!). We teamed up with our partners at DPH, ROHR, and the Tift County Sheriff’s Office to pack reentry bags for individuals being released from incarceration — whether they’re returning to our community or another one.

What started as a simple harm‑reduction kit has grown into something so much bigger. Oasis took one look and said, “This doesn’t speak the language of hope.”
So with the help of DPH… we changed that.

Now these bags are LOADED with tools that save lives and items that speak to dignity, encouragement, and possibility. Naloxone, fentanyl test strips, hygiene items, notebooks, resources, reminders not to give up — and most importantly, a message that recovery is real and reachable.

This effort is part of our developing (and not yet funded) Forensic Peer Mentor initiative at OASIS RCO. Because when peers lead the way, the work becomes more than services — it becomes connection, hope, and a promise that WE DO RECOVER.

We’re proud of this partnership. We’re proud of this work. And we’re proud of every person who will receive one of these bags as they take their next step forward.

🌿 Hope goes with them. Every time!!!!

Recovery Devotional – Wellness Wednesday: Whole‑Self Nurturing

Wellness Wednesday arrives right on time—mid‑week, right when our energy dips, our focus scatters, and the parts of ourselves we’ve ignored start whispering for attention. After beginning the week with mindful intention on Monday and reconnecting with “we, not me” on Tuesday, today invites us to pause and check in with our whole self. Recovery isn’t one‑dimensional. It’s bio/psycho/social/spiritual—a living system that needs care in every direction. At Oasis, we use P.E.E.R.S. to remind us of this truth: Physical, Educational, Emotional, Recreational, Spiritual. When we nurture all five, we don’t just stay sober—we grow, strengthen, and thrive.

Holistic wellness means honoring the full landscape of who you are. Recovery asks us to look honestly at the areas we’ve neglected—our bodies, our minds, our relationships, our joy, our spirit—and gently bring them back into balance.

Physical wellness is more than exercise; it’s rest, hydration, nourishment, and listening to your body’s signals.
Educational wellness is staying curious, learning new tools, and growing your understanding of yourself and the world.
Emotional wellness is acknowledging your feelings without judgment and building resilience through honesty and support.
Recreational wellness is giving yourself permission to play, laugh, explore, and enjoy life again.
Spiritual wellness is grounding yourself in meaning, connection, and a Higher Power who walks with you.

When these parts work together, recovery becomes sustainable. When one is neglected, the others strain to compensate. Today is your reminder to check in with each part—not with shame, but with compassion. You are rebuilding a life that honors the whole you.

Quote
"Wellness is the art of paying attention to every part of yourself—not perfectly, but consistently."
— Arielle Sage, Holistic Living Guide

Self‑Affirmation
I honor every part of myself today. I am worthy of balance, growth, rest, joy, and spiritual grounding. I choose to care for my whole self with intention and compassion.

Connection to the 12 Steps
- Step 1: Acknowledging powerlessness invites us to examine every area of life honestly.
- Step 5: Sharing our truth strengthens emotional wellness and connection.
- Step 10: Daily inventory keeps all parts of our wellness aligned and accountable.
- Step 11: Prayer and meditation deepen spiritual wellness and guide our next right step.
- Step 12: Service nurtures social and spiritual wellness, reminding us we heal together.

Bible Verse
"Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it." — Proverbs 4:23
A reminder that tending to your inner life shapes the health of your whole life.

Wellness Wednesday is your invitation to slow down and reconnect with the full picture of who you are becoming. Let P.E.E.R.S. guide you today—move your body, learn something new, honor your emotions, make space for joy, and ground yourself spiritually. Recovery is not just about staying away from what harms you; it’s about nurturing what heals you. Your whole self deserves care, and today is a beautiful day to begin again.
