While we might be looking forward to cooler weather, for many people the shorter days in the upcoming season can trigger sadness, moodiness and depressive symptoms often referred to as the Winter Blues or Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD).

Here are a few things you can do at home to help prevent Seasonal Depression:

-Use a light therapy lamp for 30-45 minutes per day
-Spend time outdoors in natural light, the more time outside before noon, the better.
-Take Vitamin D supplements -Incorporate exercise and movement you enjoy 3-5x per week
-Practice good sleep habits
-If possible, take a trip to somewhere warmer and sunnier
