What does Core OEPF Certification represent?

It reflects a deep commitment to understanding vision as it relates to learning, development, and neurological function—grounded in clinical tradition and real-world application.

Through the OEPF Clinical Curriculum (A&S, VT1–VT3), professionals progress toward COEP or COEP-T certification with live instruction and experienced faculty.

Headline: We Survived the Polar Vortex! ❄️🧠

Shout out to the "frozen" but fearless members of the Michigan Vision Therapy Study Group! 🥶

This past weekend, Michigan threw a winter storm and a Polar Vortex at us, but it wasn't enough to stop the learning! We had 100+ attendees gather to talk all things Neuro-rehabilitation. To the 10 people who were stuck at home—we missed you, stay warm!

We spent 1.5 days leveling up our skills with some of the best in the field:
Scheiman & .Baxstrom took us deep into ABI & TBI insights.
David Cook reminded us of the power of the "Art & Emotion" in our therapy rooms.
Scott Lewis shared game-changing binocular approaches.

Huge thanks to the OEPF and the Michigan organizing committee . Dan Fortenbacher . Brad Habermehl and our incredible sponsors for keeping the coffee hot and the education top-tier: Bernell | Chadwick Optical | EyeLux

The ice couldn't stop the progress. See you all next year—hopefully with a little less snow!

A huge shout out to everyone who made it to the Southwestern Congress of Optometry this past weekend (January 24–25, 2026)!

Despite the messy snow and ice that tried to slow things down, the commitment to the profession was on full display. A special mention goes out to the featured speaker, Dr. Brenda Montecalvo, for her incredible sessions on the Assessment and Treatment of Strabismus and Amblyopia. Her expertise in functional vision and patient outcomes is always a highlight, but it was especially impressive to see such a great turnout and engagement given the winter weather. A great big thank you to some of the organizing team and the people behind this conference Justin Chelette OD FAAO COEP Here is a picture of the last remaining participants who braved the weather and stayed at the conference until the end in spite of the inclement weather.
