Hey Fascia! What’s Fascia? It’s the all important band or sheet of connective tissue (primarily collagen) that attaches, stabilizes, encloses, and separates muscles and other internal organs.

Repost from

🕸️ FASCIA
The technique of Myofascial Release causes changes in viscosity of the fascia that generate a better sliding of the tissues eliminating the excessive pressure in painful areas and restoring the alignment. It acts on the cells of the muscle spindle, which respond with a reflex contraction to rapid stretching, and on the Golgi tendon organs, which are responsible for capturing proprioceptive information from muscles and tendons. The pressure exerted by myofascial release can inhibit muscle spindles, as well as alter muscle tone leading to muscle relaxation, allowing muscles to contract and stretch more efficiently. Furthermore, the improvements obtained after myofascial release are due to the elongation of the elastic component, the release of cross-links that may develop nodal points of the fascia and the change in viscosity of the fascia.
