Hmmmm any ideas on this mystery bone??

Our previous mystery bone is the.. L5 vertebrae!
🦴 Fun Fact #1
The L5 vertebra is the lowest lumbar vertebra — it sits right above your sacrum and supports the weight of everything above it! 💪

🦴 Fun Fact #2
It’s one of the thickest and strongest vertebrae in the spine because it takes on the most pressure when you stand, lift, or bend. ⚙️

🦴 Fun Fact #3
L5 forms the lumbosacral joint, where your spine connects to your pelvis — it’s like the “hinge” between your upper body and your legs. 🔗

🦴 Fun Fact #4
If you’ve ever felt low back tightness after sitting too long, that’s often tension around your L5–S1 area — the crossroads of posture, movement, and stability. 🪑

🦴 Fun Fact #5
The nerve roots that exit near L5 help power your legs and feet — especially your ability to lift your big toe and extend your foot. 🦶

🦴 Bonus Fact:
The “L” stands for lumbar, which comes from Latin for loin — so yes, L5 is technically part of your loins… and now you can’t unhear that. 😆

This is one of our favorite bones we’ve done so far! Any guesses why 😏

Yesterday’s mystery bone of the day is the.. patella!

🦴 Fun Fact #1
The patella is your kneecap — a small, triangle-shaped bone that protects your knee joint and helps you kick, squat, and climb stairs! 🦵

🦴 Fun Fact #2
It’s the largest sesamoid bone in the body — that means it grows inside a tendon (the quadriceps tendon) instead of connecting directly to other bones.

🦴 Fun Fact #3
When you straighten your leg, the patella acts like a pulley, giving your quadriceps more power and leverage. ⚙️

🦴 Fun Fact #4
Babies are born without a hard patella! It starts as cartilage and doesn’t fully harden into bone until about age 3. 👶

🦴 Fun Fact #5
It slides up and down in a groove on your femur every time you bend or straighten your knee — about 1,000 times a day just from walking and sitting!

🦴 Bonus Fact:
The word patella means “little plate” in Latin 🍽️ — which makes sense, since it sits right on top of your knee joint like a tiny protective dish.

Let us know if you KNEEd any hints 😆

Yesterday’s mystery bone of the day is the… Coracoid process!
🦴 Fun Fact #1
The coracoid process is a small hook-shaped projection on the scapula (shoulder blade). Its name literally means “like a crow’s beak” in Greek — hence the “coracoid!” 🐦

🦴 Fun Fact #2
It’s small but mighty — several key muscles attach here, including the biceps, pectoralis minor, and coracobrachialis (try saying that five times fast). 💪

🦴 Fun Fact #3
Even though you can’t see it, the coracoid process helps stabilize your entire shoulder joint — it’s like the secret anchor of your upper body. ⚓

🦴 Fun Fact #4
If you press just below your collarbone toward your shoulder joint, you can actually feel it! It’s that little bump hiding under the muscle. 👆

🦴 Fun Fact #5
The coracoid works as part of the “shoulder tripod” — along with the clavicle and acromion — giving your arm a huge range of motion while keeping it stable. 🏋️

A tricky one for today’s mystery bone of the day chosen for you by Dr. Sam! Think you know what it is?

Our last mystery bone of the day way - the mandible!
🦴 Fun Fact #1
The mandible is the only movable bone in your skull — it’s what lets you talk, chew, laugh, and yawn! 😄

🦴 Fun Fact #2
It’s also the strongest bone in your face, designed to handle all that chewing power. 🍎🥪

🦴 Fun Fact #3
The mandible connects to your skull at the temporomandibular joints (TMJ) — one on each side of your face, right in front of your ears.

🦴 Fun Fact #4
When you feel your jaw pop or click, that’s your TMJ in action — and the mandible is the bone moving!

🦴 Fun Fact #5
The word mandible comes from Latin mandibula, meaning “jaw” or “chewer” — which is exactly what it does best. 🦷

Sebastian is ready for his close up for today’s mystery bone of the day!

Yesterday’s mystery bone of the day is the.. ilium!

🦴 Fun Fact #1
The ilium is the largest bone in your pelvis — it’s the big, wing-shaped part that gives your hips their curve! 🪽

🦴 Fun Fact #2
When you put your hands on your hips, you’re actually resting them on your iliac crests — the top edges of your ilium. 🫶

🦴 Fun Fact #3
The ilium helps support your body weight when you stand, walk, or run — it’s one of the MVPs of your lower body. 💪

🦴 Fun Fact #4
The word ilium comes from Latin, meaning flank or side — fitting for its position on the outer part of your pelvis.

🦴 Fun Fact #5
It connects with your sacrum at the sacroiliac joint, forming the strong base that anchors your spine to your legs. ⚓

🦴 Bonus Fact:
Your glute muscles (yes, your b***y 🍑) attach to the ilium — so you can thank this bone every time you squat or sit down!

It takes effort but it’s worth it. Promise!
