Dear friend,

This Giving Tuesday, we're addressing one of our community’s most pressing challenges: ensuring every person has access to safe, affordable housing.

The 2025 Point-in-Time Count identified 13,748 individuals experiencing homelessness statewide, including a 40% increase here in Monmouth County. Housing is more than shelter—it’s the foundation for safety, mental wellness, and long-term stability.

When you support the Mental Health Association of Monmouth County, you’re not simply funding services— you’re helping transform housing insecurity into hope and the opportunity to rebuild a life.

Our adult programs help individuals secure permanent housing, navigate complex systems, build financial and daily living skills, and maintain stability through person-centered, trauma-informed care.

Next week, we’ll launch A Home for the Holidays, our Giving Tuesday campaign. I hope you’ll join us in ensuring more of our neighbors have a safe, stable place to call home.

Thank you for your continued support and commitment to mental wellness in our community.

Sincerely,

Ewa Farry
Senior Director

A Home for the Holidays ❤️
Giving Tuesday | December 2, 2025

Homelessness in New Jersey continues to rise, with 13,748 individuals counted statewide in 2025. Here in Monmouth County, the increase is even more urgent: up 40% since last year.

This Giving Tuesday, we’re raising awareness and critical support for our Housing Navigation Program — the lifeline helping individuals and families move from homelessness to permanent housing, stability, and hope.

A home is more than a roof. It’s safety. It’s dignity. It’s the foundation for recovery and the chance to rebuild.

Since launching, our Housing Navigation Program has helped 1,417 people secure permanent housing through:

• Personalized housing navigation and case management
• Outreach that connects individuals with mental health and housing resources
• Community partnerships advocating for long-term, affordable solutions

Your support this Giving Tuesday directly impacts local lives. Every dollar helps someone in Monmouth County move toward a stable future.

Hello, December ❄️

We know this season can bring both joy and stress, togetherness and loneliness. So today, we’re sharing something meaningful – advice we received from the people who make our work possible; people like you.

Visit mentalhealthmonmouth.org/donate to learn how you can support Mental Health America’s mission this holiday season.

is tomorrow! This year, we’re working to raise $100,000 by the end of 2025 to help millions of people access free, life-changing mental health support.

And here’s the good news: you don’t have to wait until Tuesday to make a difference.

In fact, when you give now, your impact will go even further thanks to a generous matching gift from the Hot Topic Foundation: every dollar you give will be matched, up to $100,000.

When you give now, you’re not just offering hope, you’re putting it into action. And thanks to our matching gift, you’re making twice the difference.

Hope is a verb. And right now, it’s doubled.

Grieving over a loved one lost to su***de can be as complicated as it is devastating. It’s hard enough to lose someone you love, but it’s even harder to accept if you have unanswered questions. You may be experiencing a lot of unfamiliar feelings, like confusion, shock, guilt, anger, or blame.

It’s important to remember that their death is not a reflection of their relationship with you. People who are thinking about su***de often can’t see beyond the pain they’re experiencing. Your life may be forever changed without this person, but you will feel okay again.

If you’ve lost someone to su***de, please remember that you don’t need to carry your grief by yourself.

Visit mhanational.org/su***de to find support today.

If you or someone you know is in crisis, call or text 988 or chat online at 988lifeline.org. You can also reach a trained counselor at Crisis Text Line by texting HOME to 741741.

Our 75th Anniversary Celebration Gala was the most successful event in our history, a monumental milestone that will strengthen and expand our impact across Monmouth County. Because of your support, we can continue advancing our mission:

To promote mental health as an essential part of overall wellness through prevention for all, early identification for those at risk, and integrated care and treatment for those in need, with recovery as the goal.
We do this through strength-based programs, education, advocacy, community partnerships, and shaping public policy. We do this because one in five people lives with a mental illness, yet too many struggle in silence. We are changing that.

Thank you to everyone who joined us at Rumson Country Club to commemorate 75 years of advocacy, education, and hope. We proudly honored Lori Jarck and Christine Moore for their leadership in su***de education and prevention, and we recognized all who champion mental health in our community.

To every sponsor, supporter, and guest: your generosity fuels change, expands access to care, and helps end stigma. Together, we’re building a community where mental health is for everyone.
