This Giving Tuesday we are excited to share that we will have a new satellite site in Piqua starting this Friday! While we are working to eliminate barriers such as transportation for those in need of mental health care, there is still an ongoing need for financial support for those seeking mental health counseling and care. Today’s message for mental illness awareness week is it is okay to pour into yourself and to practice self-care before giving to others. The counselors at New Creation do such an amazing job of supporting and caring for clients and the community. It was exciting to have a time of fellowship with one another. Some of the counselors also had time to go hiking with one another. We would love to hear from you all what you do for self-care.

We continue Mental Illness Awareness week by continuing to show our support for those living with mental health challenges and to emphasize the importance of mental wellness for all.

At New Creation, we believe in creating a safe, compassionate space where people can seek support without shame. Counseling and mental health resources are not luxuries — they are essentials.

Let’s continue to encourage open dialogue, reduce stigma, and prioritize mental well-being in our homes, schools, and workplaces.

You are not alone. Help is available. Healing is possible.

Today for mental illness awareness week it is important to recognize mental wellness is impacted through different avenues and needs. Being a mental health advocate can be sharing the different resources that the community has available. United Way of Miami County Ohio has done an incredible job showing unity in Miami County by highlighting the support provided by community. If you know someone who may need extra support, please share this information. Mental health and wellness can come from having additional help in moments of need.

October 5 - 11 is Mental Illness Awareness Month. More than 1 in 5 adults in the US experience mental illness each year as well as 1 in 7 youth ( ages 6 - 17) will experience a mental health condition each year. Let's work together to be a supportive community spreading empathy and understanding. Together we can make progress towards ending the stigma around mental illness.

Thank you Miami County Foundation for choosing New Creation Counseling Center to be one of the Spring 2025 grant recipients. Additionally, thank you for your ongoing support through the Humanitarian grant as well. New Creation was also blessed to be chosen as the recipient of the John & Jean Dugan Family Fund grant. We are grateful for this award and support.
