Dr. Scott Kennedy was a fourth generation optometrist located in Titusville, PA, beginning to consider what direction to lead his practice in coming years. Adsit was the owner and doctor of his own successful business in Meadville, PA. When the two met up to discuss the possibility of Dr. Adsit purchasing Dr. Kennedy's practice, neither knew exactly what to expect. Both wanted to do something meaningful with the practices they had built. When they found that their dreams and desires for the future coincided, a new venture was born. Dr. Adsit purchased Dr. Kennedy's practice with it's two locations, and Dr. Kennedy is continuing to work for him. Dr. Adsit is committed to a practice with purpose, and Dr. Kennedy has joined him in that goal. Now a percentage of all three locations, Vision Source Meadville, Vision Source Titusville, and Oil City Eye Associates, will be set aside for those in need. We are involving ourselves in both global and community projects, and we can't wait to see what we are able to accomplish. 💙 Community Spotlight: Shelter Area Meadville (SAM) 💙

Each quarter, our teams at Vision Source Meadville, Vision Source Titusville and Oil City Eye Associates chooses a local organization to support — one that’s making a real impact in the lives of people right here in our community.

For our 3rd quarter giving, we were honored to donate to SAM- Shelter Area Meadville, part of the Erie United Methodist Alliance (EUMA). SAM provides life-saving overnight shelter, food, and compassion to our friends & neighbors in Crawford County when the temperatures drop below 25°F.

It’s not just a place to stay — it’s a place of safety, warmth, and dignity. Every night SAM is open, volunteers greet guests with kindness, help serve meals, and make sure everyone has a clean, safe space to rest.

‼️But right now, SAM needs our community’s help more than ever!!

Volunteers are the heart of this mission — and there are many opportunities to get involved. Whether you can help serve snacks, stay overnight, prepare supplies, or lend a listening ear, your time truly matters.

A volunteer training session will be happening in November, so if your heart’s been nudging you to get involved, this is the perfect opportunity! Keep an eye on the Shelter Area Meadville page for exact dates and details.

We’re so proud to support an organization that’s doing such meaningful work — and we encourage anyone who can to step in and make a difference alongside them. Together, we can help keep our neighbors safe and warm this winter. ❄️
