We had such a rockin’ good time at this year’s UCDD Senior and Caregiver Expo! 🎶💿 Highpoint Health – Riverview has been fortunate to take part in this event for many years, and this one was extra special as the Area Agency on Aging and Disability celebrated its 50th anniversary with a fun 1950s theme!

Fittingly, we’ve been caring for Smith County since the ’50s ourselves — so we pulled out our poodle skirts, records, and plenty of retro spirit. 💖🎉 Thanks to everyone who stopped by our booth to celebrate with us!

It's important to know the early signs of breast cancer, because spotting them early can save lives. Watch for:

- A new lump or thickening in the breast or underarm
- Changes in breast size, shape, or texture
- Ni**le changes or unusual discharge
- Skin dimpling, redness, or scaling
- Pain in any area of the breast

Our Monthly Healthy Pregnancy Tip is Here! 🍎🥦

Ready to power your pregnancy? This month's tip is all about Nutrition and Choosing Healthy Foods for both you and your baby! Your baby grows best when you eat a variety of healthy foods every day. Aim to eat from all five food groups: Vegetables, Fruits, Proteins, Grains, and Dairy.

- Fruits and Veggies: Eat many different colors!
- Proteins: Have 5–6 servings a day, choosing lean meats like chicken, turkey, and fish, plus eggs, beans, and peanut butter.
- Grains: Focus on whole grains, such as oatmeal and whole-wheat bread.
- Dairy: Choose low-fat or fat-free milk, or soy milk as an alternative. Cottage cheese is another great source of dairy.

By fueling your body with these foods, you're giving your baby the best start!

Our Highpoint Health - Sumner team had a fantastic day interacting with future healthcare leaders at the 8th Grade Career Expo at Vol State today! 🚀

We had several services represented, sharing information about rewarding careers in healthcare, including Women's Services (Labor and Delivery), Respiratory Care, Laboratory, Medical Imaging, and Pharmacy. Our Chest Pain Coordinator, Heather, also provided AED and Hands-Only CPR education.

They even brought the classic game of Operation for a little extra fun! Our crew had a wonderful time sharing career opportunities and sparking interest in the next generation.

This week is Spiritual Care Week (October 19–25), and we are so honored to celebrate our compassionate Chaplains! Our Chaplains, including the dedicated JB Chapman and our new one-year resident Serenity Vanderschoot, are here to provide spiritual and emotional support for our patients, families, and staff. They understand that spirituality is a vital part of human wholeness and plays an important role in the healing process. Our Chaplains assist people facing fear, loneliness, and ethical concerns, offering prayer, support with sacraments, and a listening ear during times of crisis and illness.

Thank you to everyone who joined us over the last week to prioritize their health and get their annual screening mammogram. Early detection is our best defense, and we are grateful for the opportunity to have some fun while raising vital awareness for breast cancer prevention!
