We’re grateful to our ED staff who are participating in ongoing training with the KidsABC program through the Georgia Rural Health Innovation Center Mercer University School of Medicine.

KidsABC is a statewide initiative designed to strengthen pediatric emergency care in rural communities by providing hospitals with the training, resources, and support needed to care for children close to home.

This program helps reduce barriers to care by equipping rural hospitals with education and hands-on guidance—so families don’t have to travel far to receive timely, expert pediatric treatment.

We are SO proud of our Stroke Team! Their drive, passion, and hard work earned Stephens County Hospital its Rural Stroke Center designation in 2024, a huge win for our community!

And they didn’t stop there.
In 2025, their commitment to excellence was recognized again with the American Heart Association’s Get With The Guidelines®–Stroke Rural Recognition Silver Award, a major achievement in rural healthcare.

Recently, we gathered to celebrate this team and the remarkable impact they’re making on patients and families across our community. Thank you for raising the bar for rural healthcare and keeping expert stroke care close to home.

When the holiday stress hits, try 4-7-8 breathing. Breathing is an essential act that requires no thought. But thinking about it can alter your physical and mental health. It can relieve stress and anxiety or help you wind down and fall asleep. Here’s how to do it:

Today, we pause with full hearts and deep gratitude.

To our patients and families — thank you for trusting us with your care. It is an honor to serve you, support you, and be part of your story.

To our community partners, donors, and supporters — your belief in our mission keeps us moving forward. Your encouragement allows us to expand services, grow new programs, and continue providing care close to home.

And most of all, to the incredible individuals spending this holiday serving others — our nurses, providers, techs, support staff, EMS, first responders, and all who are working today both inside our hospital and throughout the community — thank you. Your willingness to sacrifice time with your families to care for ours is the truest reflection of compassion and commitment. Our community is healthier, stronger, and safer because of you.

From our SCH family to yours, we wish you a safe, warm, and meaningful Thanksgiving. We are grateful for you — today and every day.
