Robert E Caughhorn

Robert E Caughhorn, 57, left this world for his heavenly home on April 11, 2026. He passed away at the University of Toledo Medical Center after a lengthy battle.

Rob graduated from Morrison R. Waite High School in 1987 and attended the University of Toledo for 3 years, working towards a degree in political science. He would later in life take classes in both journalism and graphic design. A former employee of Securitas, his last assignment for 12 years was as the head of security for Champion Spark Plug in Toledo until their closing. He had been unable to work for the past 14 years due to disability. Thanks to his hero organ donor, he received a liver transplant in 2015 and was able to make 11 more years of memories due to their generosity.

He married Lisa (Panyuscsik) Caughhorn on October 2, 1993 and they were married until October 3, 2009.

Rob had many passions in life. Until his health would no longer allow, he enjoyed hiking. His travels took him to hike National Parks including Denali, Zion, Glacier, Grand Canyon, Shenandoah, and Isle Royale. He had many visits to the Great Smoky Mountains and Pokagon State Park.

Music was his therapy and he enjoyed writing songs and attending concerts, which helped to renew his soul. Attending the Garth Brooks concert in Central Park was at the top of his concert memory list. His last concert was Skillet just days prior to his injury and I’m so glad he was able to experience that. He was eagerly anticipating getting stronger to attend the Foo Fighters concert in August.

Rob certainly loved his sports and accumulated so many memories traveling to events. He bled Black and Gold as all his favorite pro teams came out of Pittsburgh. His hometown teams were important too and he still loved to attend Walleye and Mud Hens games when able.

He spent most of his time reading where he could still escape into the pages. He often would read a novel in a day. He was a book reviewer for Amazon and was thrilled to get first dibs at the new releases.

The youngest of 11 children, Rob was born January 2, 1969 to George and Josephine (Gregor) Caughhorn in Toledo, OH. He was preceded in death by both parents as well as brothers George II (Betty), Richard (Brenda), and James Caughhorn, and sisters Donna Fraley and Shirley Caughhorn. He is survived by brother Gary Caughhorn and sisters Patricia Kitchen, Linda Belcher, Carol Zuljevic, and Doris McDaniel as well as a host of many other family members. Also left to cherish his memory is his ex-wife, caregiver, and best friend, Lisa Caughhorn, her fiancé and “brother from another mother” Kelly Conley, and their family. Their grandson Marcell Conley was a light in Rob’s life for the last 7 years. Rob assisted in caregiving during Marcell’s early years and loved to spoil him. Marcell could do no wrong in Uncle Rob’s eyes and they brought each other so much joy.

We wish to thank the staff at all of the facilities that have cared for Rob on his journey for their compassion and care: UTMC, Dana Cancer Center, University Hospitals Cleveland, Mercy Perrysburg, Mercy St. Vincent, Mercy St. Charles, Advanced Specialty Hospital, and Rehabilitation Hospital of NW Ohio.

Per Rob’s wishes, there will be no services. He wished to return to Glacier National Park one final time. If you are so inclined, please consider donating to the fundraiser to assist with his final expenses.

Linda Kay Rogers

With the deepest love and gratitude, we celebrate the life of Linda Kay Rogers, our cherished Busia. Gone too soon, she was the heart of our family—a constant source of unconditional love, strength, and comfort to all who knew her. To know Busia was to feel truly loved; her presence was a gift we will carry with us always. She gave selflessly and leaves behind a legacy of warmth that will never fade.

For over a decade, Linda prepared weekly meals for the Bowsher football players and coaches. She began her career as a dental assistant before discovering her true calling in education, where she dedicated herself to teaching students with special needs. Over her 28-year career, Linda took immense pride in her students’ achievements and was honored with numerous awards recognizing her as an outstanding educator.

Linda was a lover of to-do lists, permanent markers, and a sewer of countless costumes. She was a bourbon enthusiast and a passionate supporter of democratic policies that promote human rights. In retirement, she embraced every opportunity to travel the world and, most importantly, to spend time with her beloved family and friends.

Busia’s contagious smile could be found on the sidelines of countless volleyball, soccer, basketball, and softball games, as well as orchestra and dance performances. A true crafting extraordinaire, she was the first person to call before a trip to Michaels—because she likely already had exactly what you needed. Above all, she was immensely proud of the children she and Bus raised together.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Joan and Harry Bak, and brother, David Bak. She is survived by her loving children, Burt (Marcy) Rogers and Amanda (Todd) Hasty; niece and honorary daughter, Jenny (Walt) Ryley; cherished grandchildren, Mia, Brynn, Solia, Alexander, Eliza and Oliver; sister, Melissa Nawrocki; cousin, Wendy (Aaron) Stykemain; Aunt Gloria (Chuck dec’d) Schlegel; special extended family, dear friends, and countless community members who knew her as Busia.

Family and friends will be received at Bersticker-Scott Funeral Home, 3453 Heatherdowns Blvd., on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, from 2:00–7:00 p.m., with a service to follow at 7:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Autism Society of Northwest Ohio in her honor.

Henry G Carpenter

Henry Gregory Carpenter was born to Heather and Jeff on March 10, 2005, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and was diagnosed with Duchenne’s Muscular Dystrophy at age 3. His parents provided Henry with a life not limited by his disease – but a life that allowed Henry to do as much as possible. Henry traveled from the Keweenaw Peninsula to the Everglades of Florida. Henry loved visiting the Outer Banks where he parasailed over the Atlantic Ocean, enjoying a helicopter flight over the ’Mokey Mountains (Smokey Mountains), fan boating in the Everglades to see the alligators, camping from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan to the shores of Lakes Michigan using his trail chair to experience the vast beauty of nature, watching his younger sister Susie participate at swim meets, and having his beloved cat Tuco sitting on his lap and watching his chickens run around his yard – no challenge to much for his parents to find a way to give Henry the fullest life possible.

The Carpenter family would like to acknowledge Amanda Anastasoff (Mrs. A) and her family for the love and support that they have provided to Henry and their family for the past 10 years. Mrs. A was his constant companion during his time in school and made sure that each day was a great day for Henry. After Henry’s graduation from Ida High School in 2024, Mrs. A continued to provide extraordinary care for him at home, and they became best friends.

At Ida Schools – Henry was a ray of sunshine to all those that had the pleasure and privilege to know him. A heartfelt thank you as well to the Ida Community for their unwavering support of Henry.

Thank you to all of Monroe County ISD Staff - who are too numerous to mention - for their unwavering support and caring of Henry throughout his school years – he loved each one of you.

A huge thank you to Hospice of Northwest Ohio who provided amazing care for Henry in his final days.

Thank you to all of the medical professionals who have treated Henry over the years – there are too many to mention – the care provided to him made it possible for Henry to have the experiences that he was so fortunate to have.

Henry is survived by his loving parents, Jeff and Heather, his sister, Susie, his paternal grandparents, Greg and Debra Carpenter, maternal grandfather, Charlie Emmenecker, several aunts, uncles, and cousins - too numerous to name – all of whom will miss his kind, gentle, and caring spirit.

Henry will join his maternal grandmother, Susan Emmenecker, at Resurrection Cemetery following a funeral at St. Joe’s Sylvania on January 6th, 2026 at 11 am. In lieu of flowers or other gifts, donations can be made to Henry's GoFundMe. Arrangements by the Bersticker-Scott Funeral Home 3453 Heatherdowns Blvd at Byrne Rd.
