CommunityCare Clinic

CommunityCare Clinic CCC is a completely free clinic providing primary healthcare to the greater Toledo community. The students work with licensed practitioners who volunteer.

We are staffed by volunteer students across the various fields at the University of Toledo. CCC is a student-run organization that operates free clinics which provide primary healthcare services for the uninsured and underinsured in the Greater Toledo community. By integrating medical, pharmacy, nursing, occupational therapy, physical therapy, respiratory therapy, health education, and nutrition student teams, under the supervision of licensed providers, CCC creates a unique interprofessional environment that’s centered on increasing healthcare access to our patients. A wide array of patient services are provided, while enhancing student education and awareness of healthcare disparities in the region.

Don’t miss out on Medicine Ball 2026: Enchanted Forest! CCC X SMM X AMSA’s MedBall will be held on January 31, 2026 at the Glass City Center at 5 pm; dinner will start around 6:45, with dancing at 8 pm. We will also be holding silent and live auctions (who wouldn’t want a crocheted uterus or a STEP 1 prep basket made by our very own Dr. Matus?), and there will be cocktails, dinner, a professional photobooth, and of course, dancing with our very own UTCOMLS DJs, B&B! You don’t want to miss out on MedBall; last year we had a great turnout, and we can’t wait to see even more students, faculty, providers, and community members come out to have fun with us this year. Tickets are $75 for a three course dinner (with vegan, gluten free, dairy free option) plus dessert and a night of dancing, OR $35 for dancing only tickets.

More info about MedBall, the student organizations it benefits, and ticket purchases or sponsorship can be found at the link in our bio!

Happy Latino/e Heritage Month from both the CommunityCare Clinics and the Latino Medical Student Association! Wondering why we celebrate during the middle of the month? Today is not only the first day of Latino Heritage month: it also marks the independence of Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua, followed by the independence of Mexico and Chile. While we acknowledge the hardships many Latinos face, particularly in medicine, we admire the courage to persevere in the face of systemic inequities. This month we reflect on the impact Latino Communities have had on art, science, and everything in between. This month is about more than recognition: it’s a time to uplift, celebrate, and appreciate the past, present, and what is to come.

LMSA at UTCOMLS continues to demonstrate this as they work to become an active chapter within the national organization and continue to help Latino communities.

The CCC is committed to providing healthcare to underserved populations in the Toledo area. Our clinics regularly serve the Latino population, and our volunteers include interpreters for both Spanish and Portuguese. If you’d like to get involved, don’t hesitate to reach out!

Both the CCC and LMSA would like you to join us in celebrating Latino Heritage month together. “The Latina in me is an ember that blazes forever.” – Sonia Sotomayor
