Your holiday digestion problems aren't just about the food - they're about your nervous system. ๐Ÿ‚

You could eat the cleanest, most balanced holiday meal and still feel bloated, constipated, and uncomfortable if your nervous system is dysregulated.
Because digestion doesn't happen in your gut...it's controlled by your nervous system - specifically the vagus nerve that connects your brain to your entire digestive system.
When you're stressed (which, hello, holidays), your body goes into fight-or-flight mode.

And in fight-or-flight:
-Digestion literally shuts down
-Blood flow diverts away from your gut
-Food sits in your stomach instead of moving through
-Your body can't properly absorb nutrients
-Everything feels harder

This is why the holidays wreak havoc on your gut. It's not just the extra cookies and rich meals, but the stress and disrupted routines.
The nervous system gets overloaded and overwhelmed.

When you support your nervous system FIRST - through chiropractic care, breathwork, movement, and rest - your digestion works better.

Chiropractic adjustments remove interference in the spine that affects the nerves controlling your digestive organs. Each adjustment supports vagus nerve function and shift your body from stress mode into rest-and-digest mode.

Other natural ways to support digestion during the holidays are:
Eating mindfully and intentionally (not just healthy)
Walking after meals
Staying hydrated
Supporting your gut with ginger tea or digestive bitters
Managing stress intentionally

And suddenly, holiday meals don't have to mean feeling awful.

We see it all the time in practice: people who stay consistent with chiropractic care through the holidays have better digestion, less bloating, more regular bathroom habits, and can actually enjoy their food without the discomfort.
Because when the nervous system is regulated, the gut can do what it's designed to do.

Your baby knows how to eat. But birth can disrupt the delicate structure they need for feeding.

The suck-swallow-breathe pattern requires perfect coordination between:
Cranial bones
The palate (roof of mouth)
Five different cranial nerves
Jaw, tongue, and throat muscles

When birth compresses cranial bones or misaligns the palate, this pattern can't work properly. That's when you see:
Latching difficulties
Clicking during feeds
Choking or gasping
Excessive gas and reflux
Poor weight gain

Palate work gently decompresses the bones of the mouth, giving the tongue space to function and create proper suction.
Cranial work releases compression in skull bones, allowing the nerves that control feeding to function without interference.
Both techniques are incredibly gentle (less pressure than checking if fruit is ripe) and work WITH your baby's body to restore proper structure.
When structure is aligned, the nervous system can coordinate feeding the way it's designed to.

We see immediate improvements in latching, less gas, better feeds, and happier babies (and parents).

Feeding struggles aren't just "normal newborn stuff." They're often structural - and they can be addressed.

We all know the holidays are coming.
The busy schedules.
The family gatherings.
The financial stress.
The disrupted routines.
The sensory overload.
The expectation to show up as your best self when you're running on fumes.

Most people wait until they're already completely overwhelmed to ask for help.

But here's what we've learned: the most powerful thing you can do is support your nervous system BEFORE the chaos hits.
Think of it like this: you wouldn't run a marathon without training first. The holidays are a marathon for your nervous system. And chiropractic care is how you train.

Here's how pre-holiday adjustments support natural stress management:
1. You Start From A Regulated Baseline:
When you're already in fight-or-flight mode going into the holidays, even small stressors feel massive. Regular chiropractic care before the season hits helps shift your nervous system out of survival mode and into a parasympathetic (rest and digest) state. This means you have actual capacity to handle stress - instead of already being maxed out before Thanksgiving even arrives.

2. Your Body Learns To Adapt To Stress More Efficiently:
Chiropractic improves the communication between your brain and body, which is how your nervous system processes and recovers from stress. When you're getting adjusted consistently leading up to the holidays, your body becomes better at adapting to stressors in real-time. You bounce back faster. Things that would normally send you spiraling feel more manageable and you become more resilient.

3. You're Not Running On Empty:
One of the first things to go during the holidays? Sleep. Late-night wrapping. Early morning travel. Kids too excited to sleep. Parties that run late. When your nervous system is dysregulated, sleep suffers even more. Chiropractic care supports better sleep quality by helping your body shift into deep, restorative rest.

4. Physical Tension Doesn't Amplify Your Mental Stress:
When your body is holding tension - tight neck, headaches, shoulder pain, jaw clenching - it sends danger signals to your brain. Your nervous system interprets physical tension as threat, which keeps you in a heightened stress state even when nothing is actually wrong. Pre-holiday adjustments release that stored physical tension so your body isn't constantly telling your brain "we're not safe." When your body feels calm, your mind can follow.

5. You Build A Stress Reserve:
Think of nervous system capacity like a gas tank. Most people enter the holidays with their tank already at empty - dysregulated from work stress, life demands, and lack of self-care. Then the holidays drain whatever was left. Consistent chiropractic care before the season builds up your stress tolerance reserve. You're starting with a full tank.

The families who prioritize nervous system support BEFORE the holidays consistently report:
-Feeling more grounded through the chaos
-Handling family dynamics with more patience
-Fewer stress-induced headaches and body tension
-Better sleep even with schedule changes
-More energy to enjoy the season (not just survive it)
-Quicker recovery when things do get overwhelming

This isn't about being perfect through the holidays. It's about giving your nervous system the foundation it needs to handle the imperfect, messy, beautiful chaos that comes with this season.
You can't control your in-laws. You can't control your budget. You can't control travel delays or kid meltdowns or unexpected stress.
But you CAN support your nervous system so it's equipped to handle all of it with more resilience.

If you want to enter this season feeling grounded instead of already overwhelmed, now is the time to start supporting your nervous system. Not after you're already dysregulated - but before the chaos even begins.

Holiday transitions hit different when your nervous system is wired differently. ๐ŸŽ„

If you or your child has SPD, autism, ADHD, anxiety, or OCD - the constant schedule changes, sensory overload, and unpredictable environments of the holiday season can be completely overwhelming.

Because did you know that emotional regulation is a nervous system function?

When your nervous system is dysregulated, it doesn't matter how hard you try - handling transitions, processing sensory input, and managing emotions becomes nearly impossible.

Chiropractic care supports nervous system regulation by removing interference in the spine that affects brain-body communication. When the nervous system functions more efficiently, we see real changes:
Better transitions.
Fewer meltdowns.
Improved emotional regulation. More ease moving through overwhelming environments.

We're not trying to "fix" neurodivergence.
We're supporting the foundation - the nervous system - so you or your child can thrive through the chaos, not just survive it.

Colic and reflux are the "unwanted besties"
Where one goes, the other follows. And both are rooted in the same thing: a dysregulated nervous system. ๐Ÿ’™

Physical tension from birth (yes, even "easy" births) affects your baby's vagus nerve - the nerve that controls their entire digestive system.
When the nervous system is stressed, the upper digestive system (reflux) and lower digestive system (colic/gas) can't communicate properly. Your baby's body is literally disconnected from itself.

Babies also co-regulate with their parents - meaning your stress affects their stress and vice versa - and you have a perfect storm.

Pediatric chiropractic care is intentional and incredibly gentle. Our doctors are trained to gently adjust babies and remove interference in their nervous system, their body can finally do what it's designed to do: digest properly, regulate stress, and feel calm.

Colic and reflux aren't just things babies have to "grow out of." They're signals that the nervous system needs support.

Your baby isn't broken.
And you're not doing anything wrong.
Sometimes their little bodies just need help releasing the tension they've been holding since birth.

We're here to help.

Your posture is stealing your breath. And your breath is the key to your nervous system. ๐Ÿซ

When your body is stuck in physical stress patterns - rounded shoulders, forward head posture, collapsed chest - your diaphragm can't function properly.
You end up breathing shallow, into your chest, never getting a full, deep breath.
And that shallow breathing?
It keeps your nervous system stuck in fight or flight.

When we make a chiropractic adjustment, we're doing more than moving bones:
We're breaking through deep physical stress patterns that have been limiting your breath and keeping your body in survival mode.

As your structure shifts, your diaphragm gets space to move again.
You start breathing deeper - really breathing, not just surviving.
And when you breathe better, your nervous system finally gets the signal that it's safe to relax.
Because breath and posture aren't separate issues. They're intimately connected.

Shallow breathing reinforces stress patterns.
Deep diaphragmatic breathing tells your body it's safe.

Chiropractic care restores that connection so your body can function as the integrated whole it was designed to be.

If you've been feeling like you can't take a deep breath, like your chest is tight, or like you're constantly in shallow breathing mode - it's not just stress, it's structural. But don't worry, it can change.

Your body isn't broken.
It's just stuck in a pattern.
The goal of each adjustment? To shift the patterns back into a state of ease.

The six-week postpartum checkup isn't the finish line - it's just the starting point.

You go to that appointment, get cleared, and everyone acts like your body just magically bounced back.

But mama, you know the truth.

Your back aches from nursing all day. Your neck is stiff from looking down at your baby. Your core feels weak. Your pelvic floor isn't quite right. And maybe you're struggling with postpartum anxiety or depression that no one prepared you for.

You were told your body would "go back to normal" after six weeks. But postpartum doesn't end at six weeks. It's a journey that lasts months - even years.

Here's what we see in our practice:
Postpartum moms who receive regular chiropractic care experience real, measurable improvements in both physical recovery AND mental health.
Why? Your nervous system controls everything. From your posture, pelvic floor, stress response, mood, energy, and your ability to regulate emotions when you're running on 3 hours of sleep.

When your body is in a state of balance and your nervous system is clear, your body can actually heal the way it's supposed to.
Not just physically - but emotionally, too.

We're not saying chiropractic care is the only thing you need postpartum.
You need support, rest, nourishment, and community.

But the foundation for taking in all of this support- is your nervous system. That's a piece too many moms are missing.
And it makes all the difference.

Swipe to see the 7 benefits we see in postpartum moms who commit to chiropractic care beyond those first six weeks.

If you're a mama struggling right now - whether you're 8 weeks postpartum or 8 years - your body still deserves support.

You don't have to just push through. You don't have to accept that "this is just mom life now."

You deserve to feel strong, grounded, and like yourself again.

NEWSFLASH
The flu is not a season. ๐Ÿ‚

Let's be real - if you're catching every cold that goes around, dealing with constant sinus infections, or battling the flu multiple times a year, that's not just "bad luck" or "how winter works."

That's your body telling you it needs support.

Your immune system doesn't just run on vitamins and sleep. It's controlled by your nervous system.
Every immune response in your body - from white blood cell production to inflammation regulation - is coordinated through your brain and spinal cord. When there's interference in that communication (subluxations), your body can't defend itself the way it was designed to.

So why do we see more sickness in winter?
โœ— Less sunlight = lower vitamin D
โœ— More time indoors = increased exposure
โœ— Holiday stress = nervous system overload
โœ— Poor sleep & nutrition = weakened defenses
โœ— Imbalances in the body from stress = immune interference

The good news? Your body knows how to protect itself. It just needs the right support.
When you're consistent with nervous system-focused chiropractic care, you're removing interference so your immune system can function at its best. That doesn't mean you'll never get sick - but it does mean your body is better equipped to fight off what comes your way.

Catching multiple colds a year? The flu every season?
Constant sinus infections?
That's not normal.
That's not "just how it is."
That's your nervous system asking for help.

You weren't designed to be sick all the time. Your immune system is incredibly intelligent - when it's supported properly.
Chiropractic care is here to support your immune system and keep you adaptive during the winter season.

Your immune system is always working for you. Let's make sure nothing's getting in its way.

11/10/2025

Your anxiety and depression might not be "all in your head" - they might be in the first bone of your neck.

Here's what most people don't know:
Your vagus nerve - the nerve responsible for calming your body, regulating your mood, and helping you feel safe - runs directly past the first bone in your neck (C1).

When C1 is imbalanced, it creates interference in vagus nerve function. And when your vagus nerve isn't working optimally, your nervous system gets stuck in survival mode.

That's when you experience:
-Chronic anxiety (fight/flight)
-Depression (freeze/shutdown)
-Feeling "on edge" constantly
-Emotional overwhelm
-Physical tension that won't go away

This is called low vagal tone - and it's more common than ever in our overstimulated, dysregulated world.

The good news?
Research shows that specific chiropractic adjustments to C1 can improve vagus nerve function, increase vagal tone, and help shift your nervous system from survival mode back to a state of safety, calm, and connection.

Dr. Stephen Porges' Polyvagal Theory shows us that our nervous system moves through three states: safe & social, fight/flight, and freeze. Most people are stuck in the last two.
Chiropractic care helps activate that ventral vagal state - where you feel calm, connected, and like yourself again.

You weren't designed to live in constant stress. Your body is capable of healing - it just needs the right support.

Swipe through to learn the science behind the C1-vagus connection and why consistency with chiropractic care matters for your mental health. ๐Ÿ‘‰
