Wow! Hard to believe that it has already been 19 years since I graduated into this profession that I love.
So much has happened in those 19 years! Five practices!
We started in beautiful Cape Elizabeth, Maine and we were there with Coastal wellness for almost 8 years, meeting many wonderful people and hopefully touching some lives and making a positive difference. And that is also where we really found God in our lives. Learning the difference between practicing religion, in going to church and walking through the motions Sunday morning, versus having a relationship with Christ, who now guides every decision we make. Including that decision eleven years ago to leave Maine and move back to Wisconsin.
Eleven years ago we started Holistic Life Chiropractic in Middleton. Another wonderful practice, filled with amazing people.
Until six years later, when God guided us to move to Tomahawk and open my first home office. This also included three years of commuting between my Tomahawk and Middleton practices to ensure my patients were well cared for.
Tomahawk held its own special gifts for us, as that is where God called us to open a church. We still consider that to be our most profound accomplishment, all with the Grace and help of God, and a willingness to say, "yes."
Then two years ago God guided us full circle, back to our families. We opened our Beaver Dam home office location two years ago, where we have made many wonderful connections and relationships, including connecting with an amazing midwifery group at Birthing Miracles Pregnancy Services LLC, which has helped me to create my dream practice of working with more women during pregnancy and their beautiful families. This is the world I love living in. I love helping women have healthier and happier birth experiences.
Then last year God blessed us with our meaningful and gorgeous Columbus location. A location where it all began. Twenty five years ago, I was living in the apartment, which is now our midwifery office, and that is where I not only had my first date with my husband, but also where I read a book that made me decide that I wanted to become a chiropractor. I also now get to work in the space I worked in 25 years ago for my dad and brother, and keep their memory and legacy of the beautiful space they created alive.
Crazy how full circle our life has come with so many wonderful adventures, friendships, and connections in betbetween.
I have worked with four amazing associates over the course of the past 19 years, and I am excited to add two more to our team this year.
I was blessed with the most wonderful mentors, Dr. Douglas Berry and his wife Linda, who helped to shape me into the chiropractor that I am today, and I am honored to share his teachings and legacy with the chiropractors I am blessed to mentor.
The amazing Dr. Zoie Mohr has given me complete confidence in the care of our Tomahawk patients. She has handled all we have thrown at her with grace, gratitude, and a desire to strive towards excellence. She represents Holistic Life Chiropractic so well.
My faithful patients...those who have driven hours to come see me over the years, following me from one location to the next...you leave me humbled. You are appreciated for your support, love and dedication ❤️. I have no words to express my gratitude to all of you. Especially those who have seen us in all of our MANY Wisconsin locations! I love you and appreciate all of you.
Our parents have supported and cheered us on every step of the way. They have always been willing to help us in whatever ways we have needed them. I miss my dad dearly, as I could always count on his support and listening ear and encouragement. He was always the first to tell me how proud of me he was.
And then there is my husband, Mike Voelker. Without him, none of this would have happened. He is my biggest cheerleader and support, our Handyman, our table repair man, our technique coach, my prayer partner, the love of my life and so much more. I couldn't ask for a better partner to go on this journey with.
Someone recently asked me what our five and ten year goals and plans are...that is a tough question to answer, as I didn't plan on much of what has happened over the past 19 years. I just know that as long as we keep trusting God to guide our path, it will be an amazing journey.
