Community Medical Center held a special event last night to celebrate the expansion of the hospital’s thrombectomy program, which is now available 24/7. Members of CMC, RWJBarnabas Health’s neurology and Mobile Health leadership teams joined members of the neurology team to commend them for their collaborative hard work to make this program’s growth possible.

When it comes to a stroke, every second counts. This advanced, lifesaving treatment allows CMC’s expert neuroscience and endovascular teams to remove large clots and restore blood flow to the brain—any time, day or night.

Expanding access to thrombectomy, close to home, strengthens our commitment to delivering rapid, high-quality stroke care to our community and improving outcomes for patients and families when every minute matters.

Congratulations to our latest Employee of the Month, Peter Evangelista, RN, MICU!

Peter was nominated by colleague, who wrote:
"I would like to nominate Peter Evangelista, RN, MICU (2f) for employee of the month for his exceptional patient care, his commitment to his team members, and his want to continue his education and foster the new generation of RNs joining critical care. [...]

"Peter assists in skills days, comes in on his days off when the unit is short, and shows up for his patients and his team members every day. Peter came in for a CLABSI meeting a few weeks ago in plain clothes on his day off, and when he realized the unit was short, he requested a pair of paper scrubs and went straight to the unit.

Peter is kind, compassionate, has an immense want to learn and be the best RN he can be, and has an immense want to provide support to new team members. If there is a class to be offered, Peter is there. If there is an opportunity to train, Peter is there. If there is a crashing patient or difficult task on the unit, Peter is there. [...] For these reasons, and a million more that I can’t articulate into words, I truly believe he deserves the honor."

Please join us in celebrating Peter!
