Our Story
Dr. Daynes is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon at Tooele Medical Group Orthopedics & Sports Medicine. He was born in California and raised in Salt Lake City. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from Brigham Young University in Spanish Literature. He completed medical school in Nevada and graduated in the top 10% of his class. He then moved his family to Detroit, Michigan for an orthopedic internship and residency which he received training in trauma, sports medicine, joint replacement, pediatric orthopedics, and orthopedic oncology. It was in Detroit that he learn how to manage many complex and difficult cases. He was chosen from among his peers to help provide orthopedic care at Sinai Grace Hospital, an inner-city Detroit hospital. He served as Chief Resident at McLaren Macomb Hospital. Before graduating, he tested in the top 6% of all orthopedic residents in America and Canada. After training he was accepted into a specialized program giving him extensive experience in Sports Orthopedics and cartilage restoration under Dr. Jack Farr, one of the world's experts in the patellofemoral joint at OrthoIndy, Indiana. He had the privilege of serving as an associate team physician for the Indiana Fever (WNBA), the Indians (Baseball team), Marian University, and Butler University athletics. Through this experience he has worked with professional athletes, Olympians, college and high school players. Dr. Daynes has written articles which are currently being reviewed for publication in major orthopedic journals. He helped author a chapter in the book "Understanding the Patellofemoral Joint: From Instability to Arthroplasty." Dr. Daynes specializes in: Joint replacement -Partial and total knee replacement -Total hip replacement (anterior approach) -Partial and total shoulder replacement Sports injuries Trauma Fracture care Pediatric orthopedics Dr. Daynes is a proud husband and father of four children. He and his family live in Stansbury Park. In his spare time, he loves to fly fish, exercise and spend time with his family.
