We witnessed amazing power and helped a new soul enter our realm on this Sunday morning. It’s always a deep honor to support our clients..not once, not twice, but for all three of their babies now 💜

Say hello to Malachi. On the last day of March, this cute boy decided to come roaring into the world bum first. Just the week before, we confirmed he was head down with an ultrasound. Little did we know, he flipped just 2 days before going into labor.

It was a quick, beautiful, butter breech birth. The first one I’ve had to come out crying and happy as can be.

We don’t get to do them often, but love me a good breech birth!

Our books are just about full for this year! If you’ve been interested in an out-of-hospital birth, scheduling a consult is a great (and free!) way to get more information, see if it’s a good fit, and feel empowered to have the birth that you want.

Tooele Midwifery offers individualized care, because no pregnancy and no person is the same. We provide fully informed consent so that you can make the best medical decisions for your family. We specialize in low-risk pregnancies, birth and postpartum; monitoring you and your baby every step of the way to ensure the health and safety of you both.

Our books have limited availability left for 2025. If you’re planning a pregnancy soon, we will be taking January off-call for some team R&R and will be back accepting February due date clients.

It’s International Day of the Midwife 💜
A day to recognize the diligence, humility and perseverance of those holding you close and tender as you navigate your families journey into parenthood- every time you become a new parent and for all the time in-between. I love my clients dearly and am so humbled every time you pick me to be your midwife.

This year has taught me that being a midwife isn’t just holding space for our clients to powerfully and safely bring their children into the world.

It’s also about holding space for students. Helping those on the journey to being a midwife find their own power and grow into it.

It’s about contributing to your community. Engaging with other birth workers and doing your part to make the birth world a better place. A better place for clients and their families. A better place for students and doulas. A better place for midwives and hospital providers.

All of my love to the midwives out there doing the work, day in and day out. The ones that I’m blessed to know and honored to do this work with. Many of you may not be photographed , but you’re all my hero.

Don’t worry..this is just what we look like after the 5 days we’ve had 😬
💜 a full weekend birth
💜 then student assessment week (Morgan tested out of phase 2 and I assessed students for 3 days)
💜 Morgan processed 2 placentas
💜 then another all nighter birth

And still - Morgan handled her 1st Phase 3 primary midwife birth (and COC) like a boss! A 2-minute shoulder dystocia and 700cc hemorrhage was managed perfectly. Once again, I’m just SO proud! You’re going to rock your primaries 🤘🏽

An amazing surprise visit from Kendra at clinic on Friday resulted in an impromptu skills day and assessment prep. These two are going to kill it in their testing next month and I’m so excited to see them thrive in phase 3!

All year, the UMO board has been planning our 2024 conference and last week we made it a success! We attended NRP, had 2 days full of incredible speakers where I learned so much new evidence for our practice, and helped teach some pretty cool up and coming students. I love working with these women on the board and am so excited to see what 2025 will bring!

Clients practically become family to us. We always feel so loved and excited when even the kiddos want to come visit and miss seeing us because we miss you too! Loved having these two come say hi for a bit at the birth center while their momma (also a client turned family) doula-ed for our client who has become family.

We’re in the business of family and community. And we’re 100% here for it!

There’s no “work” about it when we have this much fun together! Huge thanks to for offering up her veins to practice IV skills and coming to hang out with us! I absolutely adore the crap out of these students and love being a part of their journey 💜💜

World Breastfeeding Week - honoring anyone that has fed from their chest. Whether, by latch or pumping, for your own baby or a surrogate. For those who have induced lactation to feed another’s baby or weren’t the carrier of their child.
💜
One of the most fun things I like to tell clients with giving your milk to babies, it gives them all of the immunity that your body has! Perfectly designed for a tiny human who has no immunity, don’t ya think? And, after they are a year old, the primary purpose of continuing to nurse is to build their immune system.
💜
Did you feed your baby (or another) from your body?
