Gratitude is the attitude of Celebration of Life Week, which is celebrated annually in the first week of January. This week was created to help us break free from our schedules and ease into the year with hearts of gratitude. It encourages us to embrace life and celebrate all the wonderful blessings it has to offer us.

Celebration of Life Week helps us remember the most important thing we should be celebrating - life itself! This week encourages us to embrace the seemingly simple fact of being alive to live another day. There are so many things about life we can celebrate. How and what are you celebrating?

Self-improvement or personal growth involves the development of all aspects of our personhood—relationships with self and with others, a sense of spiritual connection, intellectual and creative evolution, acceptance and nurturing of our physical bodies, and the ability to navigate our changing emotions with compassion and a healthy amount of distance. Remember, too, that the journey of personal growth may have a conscious, intentional beginning, but it doesn’t end. It is a lifelong practice. September is National Yoga Awareness, Self-Improvement and Pain Awareness Month. National Yoga Awareness Month was created by the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (N.C.C.I.H.) along with the Office of Research Services (O.R.S.) to raise awareness of the benefits of yoga-like mental and physical well-being, less stress, and increased longevity of life. Self-improvement or personal growth involves the development of all aspects of our personhood. To truly impact personal growth, what happens on the yoga mat must carry over into our interactions with others. Yoga is also powerful mind-body tool to support people living with persistent pain. Reiki and myofascial release are also great tools to use with pain.
