✨ Spotlight on Healthy Sleep Positions ✨

We hear it all the time — “I don’t know why my neck hurts” or “I wake up with so much back pain.” And a lot of the time, the culprit is simply how you’re sleeping.

Your sleep position plays a huge role in your overall wellness. The way you position your head, neck, and spine for 6–8 hours each night can either support proper alignment… or place stress on your muscles and joints.

The healthiest sleep positions are typically on your back or on your side, with proper pillow support to keep your spine in a neutral position. Placing a pillow under your knees (if on your back) or between your knees (if on your side) can help reduce strain and promote better alignment.

Small adjustments can make a big difference — improving sleep quality, reducing neck and back pain, and supporting your overall chiropractic care.

If you’ve been waking up sore, stiff, or uncomfortable, let’s talk about it at your next visit. Your wellness journey doesn’t stop when you leave the office… it continues at home 💙

January 23rd is Maternal Health Awareness Day.

The Shawnee County Health Department is here to support you! We offer a variety of services for people who are pregnant or have young children, including:

First Steps and Nurse-Family Partnership – Home visiting program for families who qualify to promote a healthy pregnancy and improve your child’s health and development.

WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) – Special Supplemental Nutrition Program that protects the health of low-income women who are pregnant or breastfeeding for up to one year, or recently delivered up to six months, infants, and children under age five.

Family Planning Services – Includes wide range of services, such as: physical exams, contraception services, STI screening and treatment services, pregnancy testing and counseling, and more!
