The American Holistic Nurses Association joins the national nursing community in mourning the death of our colleague, Alex Jeffrey Pretti, RN.

In moments like these, many of us are holding grief, shock, fear, and fatigue—sometimes all at once. As holistic nurses, we are reminded to return to our core AHNA values: Compassion, Authenticity, Integrity, Wellness, and Inclusivity.

Wellness during difficult times includes intentional self-care:

✨ Checking in with our emotions and energy
✨ Honoring our capacity and limits
✨ Practicing gratitude and prayer or reflection
✨ Offering quiet acts of care to those in need

We invite you to pause with us, to hold those who are grieving gently in your heart, and to direct intentions of peace, love, and healing where you feel called.

Connection matters.

Please check in with one another, listen deeply, and remember that your presence—calm, caring, and authentic—is a powerful form of healing.

We're excited to announce that registration for our 46th annual conference is officially open! Gathering in Niagara Falls from June 10th-14th 2026, AHNA members and friends will explore the theme of "Holistic Nursing: Engaging Mother Nature’s Wisdom"

In today’s fast-paced, technology-driven world, many are seeking a return to balance, wellness, and deeper connection. This conference invites holistic nurses to lead the way- reconnecting with the timeless healing power of nature.

By embracing Mother Nature’s rhythms and restorative energy, participants will discover new paths to compassionate care, resilience, and personal renewal.

Through nature-based healing practices, holistic nutrition, Indigenous knowledge, cultural traditions, and evidence-based interventions, this gathering will offer practical tools rooted in the Holistic Nursing Core Values.

Attendees will explore the therapeutic roles of plants, animals, natural elements, and seasonal cycles, gaining insights into how sensory engagement and earth-centered practices can nourish mind, body, and spirit.

Together, we will cultivate a more grounded, vital, and connected future for holistic nursing and global wellness.

PLEASE NOTE: Rooms outside of AHNA’s room block at the Sheraton Hotel and nearby hotels are expected to fill up quickly due to the FIFA World Cup taking place nearby in Canada during our conference dates. This will also cause AHNA’s room block to sell out sooner than usual. We encourage you to make your hotel reservation as soon as possible, as AHNA will not be able to request additional rooms once the block is full.

Today, more than 140 members of Congress joined together in support of America’s nurses in a bipartisan, bicameral letter urging the Department of Education to recognize post-baccalaureate nursing degrees as professional degrees.
