When it comes to cancer, early detection can make a life-saving difference. Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers among women, but when it’s caught early, treatment is often more effective, and the chances of survival are much higher. That’s why regular checkups and routine screenings matter.

If you’re more than 40-years old or have a family history of breast cancer, IHS Chief Medical Officer Dr. Loretta Christensen reminds you that now is a good time to talk with your health care provider about what screenings you need: "If you’ve already had your breast cancer screening, encourage someone else to get theirs. Reminding a friend, daughter, mother, or coworker can make all the difference—it can possibly save a life."
