Stellar Pediatrics is thrilled to welcome new families to the care of Dr. Alyssa Goodwin, MD, a board-certified pediatrician, pediatric mental health advocate, and leader in school health.

With over 20 years of experience caring for children and adolescents in Maine, Dr. Goodwin is known for her thoughtful, collaborative approach to care. She partners closely with families to support both mental and physical wellness, helping children thrive at home, in school, and in the community.

School health is central to Dr. Goodwin’s work. She has served as the School Physician for the Brunswick School Department since 2014, collaborates regularly with school nurses and administrators, and attends IEP and 504 meetings to advocate directly for her patients’ educational and health needs.

✨ A Little Quiet… For a VERY Good Reason! ✨

You may have noticed we’ve been a little quiet on social media lately — and there’s a great reason why!

Chris, our Clinical Practice Manager (and the creative mind behind our social media!), has been balancing nursing school since Stellar Pediatrics first opened — and if you know Chris, you know he never backs down from a challenge 💪📚

On December 19th, Dr. Goodwin and Dr. JT had the honor of attending Chris’s Nurse Pinning Ceremony, a special milestone marking the transition from student nurse to professional nurse. Chris was nominated by his peers to deliver the student speech — and he absolutely delivered! His quick-witted humor brought plenty of laughs and even a few happy tears.

As if that wasn’t enough, Chris quietly took his nursing boards on January 5th (because breaks aren’t really his thing 😉), and on Tuesday, January 6th, he officially became a Registered Professional Nurse 🎉🎓

We are beyond excited that Chris has chosen to continue his journey here at Stellar Pediatrics, staying in his current role while also expanding his ability to care for our patients and families.

We’re excited to share that Dr. Alyssa Goodwin will be serving as the Site Head Coach (again!)for the upcoming Girls on the Run Spring 2026 season at Harriet Beecher Stowe.

The season begins 2/1, and Girls on the Run is actively recruiting volunteer coaches to help guide and inspire participants throughout the season. Coaches play a vital role in building confidence, life skills, and a love of movement — no running experience is required!

This program strongly aligns with our mission at Stellar Pediatrics to support the whole child — mind, body, and emotional well-being.

We’re excited to share that our very own Dr. JT will be facilitating the 0–12 Month Mom + Baby Group at Maine Mother & Company this Thursday morning from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM 💕

👶 About the Group:
This is an in-person group for babies and their female-identifying parents. It’s a welcoming space to connect, share, and receive support during the newborn and infant stage.

Topics may include:
• Processing and healing from birth, adoption, or fostering
• Life with a newborn: sleep, feeding, and survival mode
• Asking for and accepting help
• Navigating new family dynamics
• Introducing solids, beginner sleep strategies
• Returning to work, pumping, self-care, and more

🤍 Thursdays are unfacilitated, allowing for peer support from other moms — and the scale is always available.
