Join us for a special Toronto High School Baseball game on Monday, March 30 at 5:00 PM as Toronto takes on East Liverpool at the Knight Baseball Complex!

This game is in honor of Don Perkins and in recognition of Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Awareness Day. We’re asking everyone to wear ORANGE to show support and raise awareness! 🧡

💙 All proceeds from the gate and t-shirt sales will benefit the WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute’s Multiple Sclerosis and Neuroimmunology Clinic.

Excited to be a part of a special event this evening with Toronto Youth Basketball League and the OVAC 2A champion Red Knight boys basketball team. Hope to see all the youth basketball players take advantage of the opportunity to watch the high school team practice from 5:30-6:45 followed by autographs and hanging out with the players!

Summit PT will be providing pizza and drinks to the high school team and all youth players after practice in the cafeteria!! Hope to see a lot of future Red Knights take advantage of this great opportunity!!

Summit Physical Therapy hopes everyone is doing well and getting through the winter storm! Snow removal can be a difficult task resulting in injury, so we want to provide a few tips for safe clearing of the winter storm.

Common tips to remember:
1. Do a small warmup workout before heading out to shovel.
2. Shovel choice – make sure shovel is lightweight and has a longer handle to avoid excessive bending.
3. PUSH THE SNOW! – Use momentum to clear snow avoiding lifting when possible.
4. Use your LEGS for lifting.
5. Avoid twisting when tossing a shovel full of snow!
6. Take breaks often and stay hydrated!
7. Cool down workout – Removing snow is tough on the body as we don’t perform these motions routinely, so be sure to get a light stretch/exercise in post snow shoveling.

Attached is a simple program to help loosen up before going out for snow shoveling.

The AlterG treadmill allows patients to perform pain free running/walking ranging from 20-100% of their bodyweight.

Landon demonstrating how the AlterG can be used to reintroduce sprinting using reduced weight bearing technology for his transition back to basketball. We are honored Landon chose Summit PT for his rehab and cant wait to see his return to the court!!
