Did you know? Your ears do more than help you hear—they also help control balance and spatial awareness. And despite their small size, they’re wildly complex.

As we age, everyday noise, water exposure and even favorite hobbies can take a toll on our hearing. 👂
According to Yuan Liu, MD, ENT specialist with Torrance Memorial Physician Network, “If you’re turning up the TV louder than those around you, that’s a sign it’s time to see an ENT.”

From surfer’s ear to tinnitus and age-related hearing loss, learn the early warning signs—and what you can do to protect your ears for years to come.

👉 Read the blog and give your ears the attention they deserve.

Yuan Liu, MD, an ear, nose and throat specialist with Torrance Memorial Physician Network, offers a common-sense approach to protecting hearing and the ears in general.

It’s the Paruthi family’s second child and we couldn’t be happier for them❤️

Our Pediatrics Team had a special visit this Christmas! Tori Vega once again surprised us with a bundle of toys for our young patients, a beautiful gesture from Tori and her family. Tori was admitted to the hospital on Christmas Day in 2023. “Tori is so thankful for the care she received,” her mother Michelle said. “As long as we can we will continue to bring toys for the children hospitalized on Christmas Day.”

Thank you Tori!

From the days of Del Conte’s Restaurant—where the garlic cheese spread became the stuff of local legend—to three generations of babies born at Torrance Memorial, the Del Conte family’s roots in this community run deep. As we approach the end of the year, we’re grateful for supporters like the Del Contes who help ensure exceptional care for every family who walks through our doors.

Former pediatrics patient Maeve Macritchie, 12, recently held a bake sale at her middle school in Redondo Beach and donated the proceeds to Torrance Memorial Foundation to support the Pediatrics Unit, saying the care she received by the team left a lasting impression on her, so much so that she wants to pursue a career in healthcare. We are so grateful for supporters like Maeve who help us continue to provide expert care for 100 years and beyond!

For more than 100 years, Torrance Memorial has been committed to strengthening the health and well-being of our community. Our newly published FY 2025 Community Benefit Report reflects that promise in action.

This year, we invested more than $165 million in community-focused services—from health education, chronic disease support, and low-cost screenings to pre- and post-natal programs, mental health resources, transportation assistance, and free support groups. We expanded access to care, delivered thousands of hours of professional training for the next generation of healthcare workers, partnered with local schools and nonprofits, and provided essential aid for vulnerable families.

Our mission has never been just about delivering exceptional care within our walls—it’s about lifting up our entire community. As we enter our second century of service, we remain dedicated to ensuring everyone has the opportunity to live a healthier, safer, and more supported life.
