A VICTORY FOR US All
On March 26, we concluded the Torrance-South Bay YMCA’s 2026 Annual Community Support Campaign with an in-person Victory Celebration - Hawaiian style! 🌴

Thank you to Section Leader Marc Mitchell for facilitating our dinner meeting, to John Frank for leading us in the Pledge of Allegiance, to Joyce Perkins for leading the evening's invocation, and to Rita Tieszen for sharing her personal Y story about our Senior Nutrition Program. We also welcomed Suki Lee and her team of hula dancers for a beautiful dance performance. 🌺

Thank you to all of our dedicated volunteers, hardworking staff, and generous donors for offering your valuable time, generously giving back to our community, and demonstrating true social responsibility. A huge thank you to the Y's Men's Club for your incredible donation and to the Y's Adventure Guides for highly contributing to our campaign. SHOUT-OUT to our Division Managers Judy Shafer, Cathy Buzze, Betty Colyer, and Rich Alves for helping make this campaign a big success - we raised $130,401 which is 104% of our goal! 🌟

Congratulations everyone! We'll be able to truly make an impact in our community due to your hard work. No matter what role you played in this year's campaign, we accomplished our goal because of your commitment, teamwork and willingness to put in the effort needed.

The Y's Teams Campaign 3rd Report Meeting was held virtually on March 19 where we highlighted the Y's Before-and-After Child Enrichment Program🏃‍♀️‍➡️as well as sharing some St. Patrick's Day traditions.🍀

A huge THANK YOU to Samantha Daneman for sharing your special Y story about our child care program and how the Y has supported you and your family. 😊 And thank you to our Child Care Director Ana King-Hernandez for challenging us with some interesting trivia!

We also appreciate all the campaigners who shared their success stories. 🌟 Together, we reported $83,386 raised—67% of our goal. On our way to a victory!

Our Victory Meeting will be in person on Thursday, March 26 at 6pm, where we’ll spotlight our senior department with a luau‑themed dinner 🌺🌴. See you there!

The Torrance-South Bay YMCA's 2026 Annual Community Support Teams Campaign held its 2nd Report on Thursday, March 12 with an Oscar themed dinner event by our dedicated membership team 🏆.

Thank you to our Section Leaders Tim McDonald, Marc Mitchell, and Mike Griffiths for facilitating this meeting. Thank you to Jackie, Rod, Velma, and Nicole for serving our BBQ dinner. Thank you to Colette, Madelyn, Hadley, and Sarah for presenting the Pledge of Allegiance and thank you to Bill Colyer for your genuine invocation. Thank you to Gwen Padilla for being a long-time Y member, for sharing your Y story, and for reminding us to keep motivated and moving no matter the challenges that come before us. And thank you to our Group Exercise instructor Liza for helping us get moving with a fun Cardio Dance demo! 🕺

Our total for Report 2 is $22,474 which brings us to a grand total of $62,761....that's 50% of our goal! Keep up the hard work!

The Y's Teams Campaign 1st Report Meeting was held virtually on March 5 where we highlighted the Y's Military Family Support Program 🇺🇸 and our Jr. Clippers Basketball program 🏀 in honor of March Madness.

A huge THANK YOU to Katy Turnbaugh for sharing your heartfelt Y story and how the Y has supported your military family. 😊 We hope everyone enjoyed the Jr. Clippers video featuring recent practices and games—thanks for bringing your basketball spirit!

We also appreciate all campaigners who shared helpful tips and success stories. 🌟 Together, we reported $40,287 raised—32% of our goal. Amazing work and way to bring your A‑GAME!

The Torrance-South Bay YMCA's 2026 Annual Community Support Campaign kicked-off its Teams Campaign on Thursday, February 26 with an Olympic themed dinner event by our amazing aquatics team worthy of a GOLD MEDAL! 🥇Thank you to all our leaders, campaigners, volunteers, and staff for attending! Our goal is to raise $125,000 to support programs that build youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.

Thank you to our Section Leaders Tim McDonald, Marc Mitchell, and Mike Griffiths for facilitating our team meeting. Thank you to our dedicated Las Hermanas volunteers for serving our pasta dinner. Thank you to Grayson, Eli, and Ekin for presenting the Pledge of Allegiance and thank you to Karl Walther for your heartfelt invocation. Thank you to Lisa Chang and Mary Bryant-Mason for sharing your wonderful Y stories that help inspire us to fundraise.

In addition, each of our 4 divisions collaborated on division names: Division 1 (Leader: Judy Shafer) - "Y Pop Campaign Hunters"; Division 2 (Leader: Cathy Buzze) - "I Got Like Hella Money"; Division 3 (Leader: Betty Colyer) - "Mission Possible"; Division 4 (Leader: Rich Alves) - "Rich Riders"

WE ARE ALL WINNERS! Let's DO GOOD and LEAD CHANGE and let's help build a better community together.

Our torch will fly high for the next 4 weeks! 💫 Thank you for being a part of this year's campaign!

On March 27, we concluded the Torrance-South Bay YMCA’s 2025 Annual Community Support Campaign with an in-person Victory Celebration. The Y's Teams Campaign 2nd Report Meeting was held in-person on March 13 with a St. Patrick's Day theme and Irish meal. 🍀 Thank you Cyndy Bradfisch for your special invocation and thank you to the Soltero & Aguilar children for leading the pledge of allegiance. Ken Seeraty shared his Y story about his wonderful experience with the Y's before & after school child care program. At our meeting we reported a grand total of $39,290 raised which is 31% of our goal!

Torrance-South Bay YMCA kicked off the 2nd leg of our 2025 Annual Community Support Campaign on February 27 with a Mardi Gras themed dinner for our Teams Campaigners. Community volunteers will be gathering together for 5 weeks to help raise funds to support our community, vital programs and resources that the Y offers.

A special thank you to Tim McDonald, Marc Mitchell, and Mike Griffiths for opening the meeting, Lori Rayor for your heartfelt invocation and quote, to Jr Clippers Coach DJ Johnson and his children for leading us in the Pledge of Allegiance, and to Vanessa Torres for sharing her Y story about how the Y has positively impacted her family. And thank you to our volunteers for serving dinner to our guests and thank you to our Teams Campaigners for generously dedicating your time and effort to raise funds for the Y.
