Susan Danforth (Monroe) Kline, age 77, passed away on May 6, 2023, in Torrington, CT following a lengthy illness. She was born on May 28, 1945, in Torrington to Arthur and Edna (Dexter) Monroe. Susan was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Caroline. She is survived by her sister, Martha, her daughter Catherine, her sons Matthew and Arthur, her granddaughter Emma, grandson Billy, nieces Lydia and Sarah, and nephews Brad and Jono.
Susan graduated from Torrington High School, class of 1962. She served in the US Navy as a Photographer’s Mate and was honorably discharged in 1966. Susan worked for many years for the State of CT at a residential home in Torrington. In later years, she worked as a bus monitor.
Susan was an active member of the Wi******er Grange for over 50 years. She raised show rabbits and cavies for many years and was active in 4-H as a parent and leader, as well as being active in other local rabbit organizations. Susan was active at many local agricultural fairs throughout most of her life. She worshipped at the Center Congregational Church where she was a lifelong member.
A memorial service will be held on June 17th, 1:00 pm, at the Center Congregational Church.
