Northwest CT Community Foundation Appoints Brian Mattiello as Chief Executive Officer
Torrington, CT — The Northwest CT Community Foundation (NCCF) today announced the appointment of Brian Mattiello as its next Chief Executive Officer, effective July 1, 2026.
A lifelong resident of Northwest CT, Mattiello brings more than three decades of leadership experience across the nonprofit, healthcare, and public sectors. He currently serves as Senior Leader for Community Health and Engagement at Hartford HealthCare and has held senior leadership roles, including Regional Vice President for Strategy and Integration, and Vice President at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital.
Mattiello succeeds Guy Rovezzi, who is retiring after 23 years of distinguished leadership. During his tenure, NCCF experienced significant growth, expanded its philanthropic impact, and strengthened its position as a trusted and enduring force for good across the region.
“Brian impressed the search committee with his accomplishments, his deep local knowledge, and his clear vision for the future of NCCF,” said David Antoniazzi, Chairperson of NCCF Board of Trustees. “He brings a strong record of leadership, a deep commitment to community, and an appreciation for NCCF’s mission.”
“I am honored to join the Northwest CT Community Foundation and to build upon the strong foundation that has been established,” said Mattiello. “This organization plays a vital role in supporting the communities it serves, and I look forward to working closely with the Foundation’s staff, donors, nonprofit partners, and community leaders to continue that important work.”
The appointment follows an extensive and deliberate search process led by NCCF’s Board of Trustees.
Established in 1969, the Northwest CT Community Foundation serves 20 towns in Northwest Connecticut. Its total endowment, comprised of more than 280 funds, has grown from initial assets of $15,000 to approximately $180 million. Last year, combined grants and scholarships totaled in excess of $7 million.
