Sometimes, kids just need to move, push, crash, or chew their way to calm! These four proprioceptive activities are perfect for helping kiddos regulate their energy and emotions:

1️⃣ Crashing: Jump and crash into couch cushions, a bed, or a beanbag chair. Safe, fun, and surprisingly calming!
2️⃣ Stomping: Stomp in puddles, leaves, snow, or on floor targets made with colored tape. Big movements, big regulation!
3️⃣ Heavy Work: Push or pull a laundry basket full of books, do wall pushups, or practice animal walks. Strength + calming in one!
4️⃣ Chewing: Gum, chewy snacks like bagels or granola bars, or raisins/dried fruit can help kids self-soothe.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION TO KNOW!

Nursemaid's Elbow (also known as Pulled Elbow, Radial Head Dislocation, or Elbow Subluxation) is a common minor injury which affects children under 5 years.

Pulled elbow is a partial dislocation of the elbow. It's when the lower arm (radius) becomes partially dislocated of its normal position at the elbow joint. It occurs when a child is pulled/lifted by one hand or wrist, or swung around in a circle in play. It can occasionally occur after a fall.
