Dr. Diane Pomerantz’s Memoir, “Lost in the Reflecting Pool” is a beautifully written story of a woman, a mother, wife, daughter, friend and prominent psychologist in which the reader is able to see that hope and positivity is possible after experiencing the worst of humanity from a person you once thought you loved and trusted.

Dr. Pomerantz takes the reader through her journey of meeting “her perfect ,charming, successful and intelligent mate” in which hope and opportunity presents itself, to a journey of sadness and hopelessness and incredible loss.

This journey to the depths of darkness is the result of Dr. Pomerantz’s “perfect mate” slowly and steadily revealing more of his mean spirited nature until life with him as a husband ,father and professional partner becomes unbearable. Dr. Pomerantz’s journey back to success, health and hope is one that will inspire those who are in need of reassurance and hope. It is a story that demonstrates that it is possible for one to live through the worst of humanity in a once trusted companion, and come through the experiences with determination, success and hope.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone that enjoys reading a beautifully written story of redemption and hope. “Lost in the Reflecting Pool” is a Memoir, but it also reads like a suspenseful, human interest novel in which the heroine ultimately rejoices. The reader feels a sense of relief and hope for victims of abuse after the last sentence of Dr. Pomerantz’s book is read.
