Congratulations to Avila's wonderful Senior Citizens' Prom hosts, Loyola Blakefield school, on their amazing Blakefield Singers' Christmas performance for WBAL NewsRadio 1090 and FM 101.5 Cool Kids Campaign fundraising concert yesterday at Valley View Farms Garden Center & Nursery! Every April for the last 3 years, Loyola's Class of 2027 students and their families have hosted over 120 senior citizens and their loved ones for dancing, prom photos and delicious food. Stay tuned for details about Avila's 2026 Senior Citizens' Prom! Loyola students know well how the Power of Music brings joy to all- Go Blakefield Singers and Go Dons :-)!

There's absolutely nothing more fun on a Monday morning than dancing the "Cupid Shuffle" with a bunch of seniors, while simultaneously hanging a modern art collection that includes artists whose paintings grace the walls of the Smithsonian, the White House and the United Nations! Avila's Gretchen Maneval got to dance the dance, and also put up Brightview Senior Living Annapolis's new Avila Art Makers exhibit yesterday morning (the Carol and Ken Collection of modern art). Gretchen was also delighted to spend time with residents and staff at Brightview Senior Living South River, hanging their new exhibit of impressionist artist Meg Strott whose pastel drawings and oil paintings are magnificent!

What a joyful Artist Reception at Brightview Mays Chapel Ridge yesterday with Impressionist artist Megan Smith Strott! Megan's incredible pastel land and seascapes are often warmed by a brilliant setting or rising sun. This inaugural Avila Art Makers exhibit at Brightview Mays Chapel Ridge was attended by resident artists and art enthusiasts, and their friends and family. Jamie Pistorio, Vibrant Living Director, and her team were absolutely lovely and provided delicious fruit, cheese and crackers to nibble along with a bit of festive bubbly for the holiday season. Brightview's wonderful Art Therapy program features the talent of many residents, and we were pleased to have several of them at the reception. We were delighted with the chance to revel in Meg Strott's beautiful art with all of the guests- thank you Brightview Mays Chapel Ridge :-)!

Avila is so excited to announce that we won 1st Place in the LifeSpan Network - A Senior Services Association regional photo contest🤩!! When all of the Likes/Loves and Comments were tallied, Avila's photo entry from our annual Senior Citizens' Prom at Loyola Blakefield had over 200 votes! THANK YOU to everyone who voted, and to LifeSpan for the opportunity and generous prize which will support Avila's 2026 Senior Citizens' Prom! All of the photo entries of seniors for the contest were beautiful- Avila congratulates them all for supporting seniors to THRIVE!

Happy Thanksgiving! We are grateful to all of Avila's clients and their families for the honor of serving them. Thank you to Avila's intrepid Caregivers and office staff who serve with joy every day. And abundant thanks to Avila's partners in care- including our medical partners GBMC - Greater Baltimore Medical Center, LifeBridge Health, and Gilchrist Cares, as well as the over 40 senior living communities where Avila serves clients by providing personal, companion and memory care, as well as through Avila's art and musical programming. Pictured here is Gretchen's son Spencer (a student at Loyola Blakefield) who valiantly spent his first day of Thanksgiving Break delivering delicious Mouth Party Caramels to our wonderful partners at Brightwood Club Association, Springwell Senior Living Community, Brightview Senior Living Hunt Valley and Brightview Senior Living Towson. What fun it was to see everyone's smiling faces as they received Avila's Thanksgiving treats! Wishing you all a blessed Thanksgiving as we give thanks for you all :-)!

Avila Home Care's season of giving thanks to our partners has begun! Last week Avila Home Care celebrated our 600 Caregivers for National Caregiver Appreciation week! During Open Houses at Avila's Towson and Annapolis offices, our Caregivers enjoyed delicious food, fabulous prizes and lovely conversation with each other and our Avila office staff.
