Blessed!

Today, I celebrate…
It was exactly one year ago today that my life changed. I was on Dialysis for 2 1/2 years for Kidney Failure of both Kidneys and God sent me an angel. My donor, who did not know who I was, had decided to donate their kidney to someone in need. I have met my donor in person since my transplant and I am so grateful for their gift of life to me. We now have a lifelong connection. I have been doing great, traveling and enjoying life. God has continued to to walk along beside me on my journey. I thank that special person and all of my family and friends that been there for me throughout this process. GOD IS SO GOOD…

Hello everyone,

My search for a Kidney Donor is over. This will be my last post on this page. I have been blessed to receive a Kidney from an anonymous living donor. I wish I knew the person who was the donor, because I owe that person my life.
My Transplant was on April 13th and I was released from The Mayo Clinic on April 15th. Every thing is going well. I still have pain from the surgery, but, the doctors say that I am doing very good. I have to drink 85 oz. Of water every single day. I don’t have to go to dialysis anymore and that is such a great feeling.
My daughter Kimberly, has been here in Arizona with me through this whole process and I am so proud of her. I will be here in Arizona for another 4 weeks and then I can go home.
I appreciate all of the comments and followers for this page. Thank you all.
Now, it is time for me to heal and start my new lease on life.

Hi everyone,

It has been a few months since my last post. My daughter and I visited the Mayo Clinic in Arizona this past December. It has been a long stretch, but I can shout out, that I am “OFFICIALLY” listed on their Transplant waiting list. They told me that the transplant can come as early as this December. I ask that you all continue to lift me up in your Prayers.

Hello everyone,

Just an update from my trip to the Mayo Clinic in Arizona. I completed all of the tests that they required me to do. It is a lot to take in. I met with Nephrologists, Transplant Coordinators and also one of the Transplant surgeons. I was informed that I am an excellent candidate for a transplant from the results of my evaluation process and testing. They still encourage me to look for a living donor, which would make the process faster. They said that my wait time will be 1-2 years at the most, but also, could be at any time sooner once my 2 year wait time from UCSF is transferred to the Mayo Clinic’s list. I am so happy that we made the trip to Arizona. I will have to stay there for 6 weeks after the transplant, which my daughter and I have started looking into places for me to stay, but I am sure something will come through. Thank you all for the continued Prayers and for “Sharing” my story.

Hello everyone,

I posted this story on my personal FB page last month and just wanted to update this page with my current situation. As many of you know, I have been dealing with Kidney failure and have been on dialysis for a little over a year and a half. I am in need of a Donor, but in the meantime, I have been on the UCSF and UC Davis Transplant waiting lists. Recently, I applied to the Mayo Clinic in Arizona to get put on their waiting list and they accepted my referral. So, in 2 weeks, my daughter Kim and I will be flying to Phoenix to start the Transplant Evaluation process. It will be a 3 day process of testing, but I am excited, because their wait list is much shorter than the wait lists here. They told me that they will go by the first date that I was listed on the UCSF wait list, which will be 2 years this December. This will put me 2 years up on their wait list, which I have been told that the wait time right now for a Transplant there is a 3-5 year time frame. I know that we will have to be flying back and forth for testing, etc., but, I just feel so Blessed to have a daughter that will go to the end of the earth for me. She truly is my rock. Please keep me in your Prayers and continue to “share” my story. God is on my side.

Hello everyone,
It has been quite a while since I have written on my page. I am still in search of a donor. It has been a little over a year and a half that I have been on Dialysis now. I must say that going to my treatments are like having a job. I get up 3 days a week at 4:30am to be there by 5:15am. My treatments are 3 hours and 15 minutes each. Has it gotten any easier, I can honestly say, “No”. I have accepted the fact that this is my life for now. I ask that you all keep me in your prayers that a donor will come through for me to have a transplant. Please continue to “SHARE” my story and my Page. God Bless.
