Nate is super Excited!! He found out yesterday his wish to go to Disney World, through Make A Wish, has been approved! Waiting to find out when and all still, but he knows he is going!! He is so excited. Thank you to Make A Wish, and all of its supporters!! We are so thankful!

Update from Monday! So we met a new urologist in Atlanta. We all really like him so far. He thinks nates issue we have been having is a fisula that has opened up. This leaks urine freely and so it's very annoying for him. It also causes pain for him to cath. We are waiting to hear from hospital to find out when we go back for a camera to be inserted and find out where fisula is connected and how his Mitrofanoff port looks. Believing for good reports . Nate has had a busy few weeks. With sleep over and a youth retreat he went on. With all this he is feeling run down and his kidney is showing signs of struggle. BUT God is bigger and he has already healed nate. We will be taking a few days to rest and recover. All in all Nate is trucking right along. He has decided to see if he can switch his wish to disney since they can't do the camper right now. He is super excited though and prays for him to receive this one. He has spent the last 2 days researching and planning. Thank you all for your love and support . We love each and everyone of you

Update from last Mondays visit. The over all report was great. His endocrinologist said he had grown and inch and that was great for him. She will follow up with us one more time and if it still looks good she will release us. His nephrologist said he was stable. She does need us to follow up with blood pressure reading for the week. So they can see if they need to adjust his meds. His dietician helped him to get better snack ideas for his kidney and hormone appetite. And let me say my baby is so resilient. He took a hit with her saying somethings he can't eat but after processing a day he is on board. God truly blessed me with this kid. Now the urologist all I can say is God showed us She isn't the one we need for Nathanial, and that is an answer to prayer. When his last one left us he told us to be careful with nate. That a lot of his issues were from Dr's trying, because they didn't know how to handle nates case. So we have been praying for guidance. Well with our visit I know it wasn't this lady! So I thank Jesus for the experience we had, and can't wait to see where God takes us from here. Oh and best of all ultra sound shows improvement on kidney and better dilation!! God is so so Good.

Nate got to attend his first Make a Wish event today. A Christmas party. He loved every min. He also got to meet a kid who has half a kidney. And a few other kids and hear their wishes. He said meeting the kids was the best. Thank you Make A Wish for an amazing evening!

Nate got to play his first basketball game yesterday. I came home and counted, because I couldn't remember if it had been 5 mths or 3 since he had to use his wheelchair most of the time. It has been 3 mths . In 3 mths God has restored my baby. He was running up and down that court loving every min. What an awesome God we serve. He may not run like everyone else yet but he was able to do it and not give out. Praise you Jesus!!

We arrived for the visit, the visit that would have been just nate and I originally
but now due to nate getting sick mom was with us now, to meet with both urologist and nephrologist. Still thinking it was about the new surgery to redo his port access again because no one can cath him but him. And to discuss the results that they had said was OK to wait until we met with them. The urologist starts off with can I be blunt and then we can discuss after that. I said of course. Then he proceeded to tell us Nate was in renal failure. At this time nothing would be happening but to stablelize him as much as possible. I told him his kidney Dr told me he was fine. And they both said we have no clue what he is looking at but he must not see what we do. They pulled all his reports for the last couple years and steadily nates numbers had gotten worse. And the last test confirmed his one kidney was only working at 27 percent. He was stage 4 ckd and the next step was transplant. So.thankful at this moment I had Jesus. We were completely in shock but we all knew God would see us through this to. I began to call everyone. They all began to pray. People everywhere were praying for nate. And we have now began to see the work again. At his moment nates blood work has improved drastically from the previous years. This last visit she said she would dare to say the numbers are saying 40 percent. We went from a few visits ago. New meds and some diet changes and we hope to get him a couple yrs before dialysis and transplant. To now several yrs. She even said this last visit we could meet again with urologist about the port issues. How good is our God!! People Jesus loves us so much and he is still in the miracle business. During this process nate was approved to make a wish. The process has started and we are in the waiting process for this to happen. His number 1 wish was for a camper. He loves to travel and do things with his family. As we wait if he feels down he says mama can we go look at campers, and I say of course. Then he gets excited again. He may not get this exact wish, you give a few choices but it's the excitement about what's coming. This is an amazing organization. It does truly make a difference. God is healing my son. And I can't wait to tell you when his healing is complete. I will update this page now with what things happen. How his progress is. Any new updates. Or just things nate would like for everyone to know or share . We pray you all have a blessed day and thanks for loving my son.

Now to the recent. The beginning of the year we went back down to see urology. Through covid and everything it had been longer between visits for couple years things feel between the cracks with Dr's getting things scheduled all that good stuff. Well the first of the year we got test his urologist had been wanting done. Mom my side kick during any visits to Charleston surgery and everything. His daddy has to work so Mimi is always by or side. Well this time she got sick and it was so hard for her to let us go by ourself. It was 2 days of testing. So we got up the first day and sat for a test. It took them 13 or more trys to get the ivs in. He was just laughing saying it's OK. As they kept apologizing over and over. He can be complicated with his vein rolling and collapsing and other anatomy differences. We had the test and went back to the room where nate started to feel yucky. He got sick so we had to head home the next day before the ultrasound and visit with the Dr. When we got home. His urologist called and told me I needed to see his kidney Dr sooner rather than later. So I called them told them to look at test results and let me know what we needed to do. He said all was fine. In the mean time his urologist had called back saying he was pulling in a nephologist down there for or visit the following month so they could be on the same page.

After we left the hospital and came home. We had several issues trying the cath through the new port. But with patience and asking God to please guide or hands we would get it. Then he got really sick. We eneded up in the er here and it came back Nate had c-dif. A really bad infection. They transfered him by ambulance back to Charleston. Where one of his good friends for kindergarden came to visit. He is so blessed. Then right before Christmas we had to go back again because his Metrofinoff port had opened and they had to go back in surgery to close the opening back up.

Sorry it's been a little bit. Last 2 weeks were crazy. So the next big thing nate faced surgery wise was 5 in 1 . This was another one of the long surgeries. I wanna say this was around 16 hrs . He had a bladder augmentation, closed off his urethra completely so no leaking would take place, an appendectomy, the Metrofinoff port made, and vesicostomy reversed. Again my baby came through with flying colors. After another way worse than expected surgery for the surgeons. We would always be told the worst case and in the end it would be way worse that they even thought possible. But Jesus saw him through it and us. The only way I can say to get through those long waits between pager updates and waiting to see your baby is Jesus. It is one one the most helpless feelings you can imagine. I really have no clue how people make it with out the peace of Jesus. Knowing he loves your baby so much more than you. And he feels the pain to.

Nates spinal surgery was when he was 4. It had already damaged his bladder and we were starting to see signs of it messing with his legs. You see just a little long and nate could have lost the use of his legs from what I read. And whatever damage is done does not reverse when you have surgery. It just stops further damage. Again another way I see God's mighty hand at play. Nate had to.lay flat for 24 hrs. Then a slow rise to sitting postion. Every hour we would.raise his bed just a little. The doctors were amazed at him. How he didn't really have much pain. He said most kids really struggled with pain after this surgery . They said when they cut the tethering his spine popped up. Let me go ahead and say this also. I believe it was around 2 yrs old when we found Mrs Betty to do his blood work. He loved her. And then our pediatrician office lab guy would do red bubbles and nate would count them. From then own nate has done fine with all his blood work. Thank you Jesus. He says count to 3 and I will be fine. And he is. Another way God helped us. Because I hear the other kids screaming and I do not so well with it. God knows what we can handle. Anyways. As nate recovered from his surgery the Dr's were blown away they said nate was healing faster than they had seen at his 6 wk check. At 3 mths they said he was good follow up at a yr. He started kindergarten right after surgery. His first and only teachers will always have a special place in our hearts. We are still in contact today.

When we went down to Charleston things began to happen. The first visit while his new urologist was getting his info. She asked if he had a tethered spinal cord. I said not the that we know of. Then she asked he was checked though correct and I said I had never heard anything about it. He had lots if test when he was born, but I had no clue what all they checked . She said before we go any further I want to.check him with an mri. And began catching him through his vesicostomy. With the dimple above his buttocks and how hairy he was we needed to check. Those were clear signs that there might be an issue. So the process began to find out. My baby was already doing much better due to cathing and doing flushes. Saline put into his bladder though the cath then drained back out. The mri showed what she expected and we were Introduced to the surgeon at musc.
