Please join us in welcoming LSI’s newest medical provider, Casey Weitzel, PA-C. 🥼🩺

Casey is a Traverse City native who earned his undergraduate degree in Biomedical Sciences from Central Michigan University, graduating with high honors in 2017. He went on to complete his masters in Physician Assistant Studies from Grand Valley State University’s Traverse City campus in 2021 and is certified by the NCCPA.

Since 2022, Casey has practiced general dermatology in Northern Michigan. His advanced dermatology training includes two six-month postgraduate fellowships under board-certified dermatologists, dermatopathologists, and Mohs surgeons, earning him the distinction of Diplomate Fellow of Society of Dermatology Physician Associates (SDPA), where he remains an active member.

He has a special interest in managing skin cancer, acne, psoriasis, and eczema, and emphasized sun protection and the importance of total body skin exams. Casey is know for providing efficient, concise, evidence-based care delivered with compassion and a human touch.

Outside of work, he cherishes spending time with family, friends, and his dog, as well as golfing, hiking, biking, and exploring Northern Michigan’s outdoors. Casey has chosen to stay local, hoping to give back and contribute to this special community in Northern Michigan.

Casey sees patients of all ages, male, female, and is accepting new patients in both our Traverse City and Cadillac locations.

We are overjoyed to be welcoming him to the team! 🤍

Dr. Leithauser and Dr. Van Vreede join forces

Dr. Laurel Leithauser opened the Skin Cancer and Dermatology Center in Traverse City on July 9, 2018 with the goal of providing comprehensive, compassionate and accessible dermatologic care to all patients who come through the door. Dr. Leithauser is a board-certified dermatologist, fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon and procedural dermatologist, and her main interests are skin cancer treatment, surgical dermatology and cosmetic dermatology. Dr. Anthony Van Vreede, also a board-certified dermatologist, grew up in Traverse City and was interested in returning to TC after practicing in the Detroit area for several years. Dr. Van Vreede and his practice, V Dermatology, have been a wonderful addition to our dermatology family. Our practices aim to provide the best care possible for any and all dermatologic concerns.
