Duane is the Executive Director of the Michigan, Alaska, and International Chapters of the National Association of Social Workers. We’re excited to introduce Jackie Paulosky, our newest Clinical Intern Therapist here at Mental Wellness Counseling! Jackie is currently completing her Master’s degree in Social Work at the University of Michigan and is now accepting new clients at a discounted private pay rate.

Jackie is deeply committed to creating a space where clients feel genuinely heard, supported, and empowered. She has experience working with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, self-harming behaviors, and the impacts of domestic violence. Jackie understands how heavy life can feel at times—and she is honored to walk alongside clients as they reconnect with themselves and move toward healing.

Her work is grounded in deep, empathic listening, and she integrates evidence-based approaches such as CBT, ACT, and Motivational Interviewing to help clients build on their strengths and create meaningful, lasting change. Jackie meets clients exactly where they are, helping them clarify what matters most and move forward with confidence and self-understanding.

Above all, Jackie is passionate about fostering a warm, welcoming, and supportive environment where every individual’s story is honored.

Carly is passionate about helping teens and young adults find their footing in today’s fast-paced, ever-changing world. She is currently earning her Master’s in Social Work from the University of Michigan and brings a fresh, open, and positive spirit into the therapy space while always centering her clients’ concerns.

Carly has experience working with individuals of all ages and supports clients navigating challenges such as anxiety, stress, depression, and major lifestyle changes. She draws from evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Narrative Therapy, helping clients make sense of their experiences and create meaningful, lasting change.

We are pleased to announce the 1st Annual Northern Michigan Mental Wellness Conference, to be held on April 24, 2026, at the Grand Traverse Resort. We invite social workers, counselors, psychologists, therapists, and other mental health professionals to submit proposals to present at this inaugural event.

The Northern Michigan Mental Wellness Conference aims to promote professional growth, collaboration, and innovation among mental health providers throughout our region. This conference is designed to support clinicians in:
• Enhancing their clinical skills
• Deepening self-awareness
• Strengthening professional resilience in the face of evolving challenges within the mental health field

This event will provide a dynamic learning space to engage with current best practices, explore emerging treatment modalities, and elevate the delivery of compassionate, evidence-based care. By bringing together experts, educators, and practitioners, the conference seeks to strengthen the mental health community and improve access to high-quality mental health care across Northern Michigan.

Call for Presenters:
We welcome proposals for interactive workshops, lectures, panel discussions, or other creative presentation formats that align with our conference theme:
“Cultivating Connection and Resilience: Strengthening the Heart of Mental Health Care.”
Presentations may focus on—though are not limited to—clinical practice, trauma-informed care, cultural responsiveness, workforce resilience, innovative interventions, community collaboration, or emerging research.
