From a PT perspective:
Under-fueling → Fatigue → Poor Mechanics → Higher injury risk

So yes… Dr. Katia has been and will be testing them all!

Here’s a few do’s and don’t’s when it comes to exercising while pregnant.

✨ Keep breathing
No holding your breath. Exhale with effort to support your core and pelvic floor.

✨ Don’t skip single-leg work
Exercises like split squats, step-ups, and single-leg RDLs help build pelvic stability—which becomes even more important as your body changes.

✨ Listen to your body
Some days will feel great, others not so much. Modify when needed, rest when needed, and trust what your body is telling you.

✨ It’s not about pushing limits—it’s about maintaining strength.

You’re not trying to PR right now—you’re supporting your body through pregnancy, delivery, and recovery.

Strong moms-to-be aren’t created by stopping movement—they’re built by adapting it 💛

“Training for my first marathon has given me a whole new perspective as a physical therapist.

I talk a lot about injury prevention—but now I’m putting it into practice myself. Following the Nike Marathon Training Program has helped me stay consistent while prioritizing recovery and really listening to my body along the way.

Marathon training isn’t just about logging miles—it’s about building strength, managing load, and staying healthy enough to make it to the start line feeling strong.
