Yesterday, our Family Support Coordinator Nancy Dow, hosted a Christmas potluck dinner and cookie exchange for the ATS Family to Family & Grief Groups. 💚🎄

They shared a wonderful evening together enjoying friendship and delicious food. Those who attended donated holiday cookies to make cookie trays for our Withdrawal Management facility and Dakoske Hall, our Men’s residential facility. Donations of art supplies were also collected for ATS clients to utilize for art therapy.

There was much warmth and joy felt by all.

Call for Donations! 💚💙 Our free, community closet is in need of Men's and Women's winter wear! We are now accepting the following items that can be dropped off at The PORCH, 1010 S. Garfield from Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am and 4pm:

It’s timmeeeee! 🎄✨ Our tree has been set up with giveaways, goodies and our signature blue + green galore. We can’t wait to see you this weekend for The Festival of Trees with Zonta Club of Traverse City. 💚💙

Today, on the first day of October, we take a moment to reflect on what a beautiful September Recovery Month we’ve had.💚💙 From Art of Recovery to PORCH-A-PALOOZA we have felt an overwhelming amount of love and support. Hundreds of people celebrated hope, recovery and 50 years of ATS and we couldn’t be more grateful. HOPE HAPPENS HERE!

One of our favorite activities to share at PORCH-A-PALOOZA is our painting and planting workshop.💚💙 Here is what co-leader of this activity, Nancy Dow, had to say:

"This year's Planting & Painting Workshop Therapy went so incredibly well. Our tables were full of eager participants from the beginning until the end of our event. Our participants were very engaged this year, taking in how planting and painting are a form of therapy. I shared how important it is to take the best care of ourselves every day and that your new plant will need you to care for it so it can grow and thrive. We encouraged our participants to let their own creativity come alive on either the canvas or a planter pot. It was so amazing to see how proud they were of what they created!"

Thank you for participating in this workshop and so many more. This year's PORCH-A-PALOOZA was our biggest and best yet. We can't wait to see what next year will bring!
