The statements are always "we don't want to bring up the topic for fear of putting thoughts in someones head" or "we don't want to think or speak about it as they, or we, will sound like we are giving up!" I can guarantee...if you've thought it, so has everyone else, especially the person dealing with the disease! Putting "paint on the invisible elephant" relieves stress for everyone.
