🌠The past few months, I have lost friends and followers on social media. When I taught regular classes at specific studios over the years, often times, even if I felt strongly about something controversial that I had learned and explored more in-depth; I would just remain quiet in certain conversations so not to create conflict. I have learned that not everyone is as willing to question subjects that they thought to be true, when evidence based science and source information that was purposely kept from them, is brought to light. All too often, most are ruled by cognitive dissonance because it is hard to admit that we were mistaken because we decided not to dig deeper into something that we were taught was true by those who we thought, had our best interest at heart. These past few months I have decided to speak up more than I ever have before. I feel like when things are fundamentally wrong, it is our duty to speak up no matter who it is for or against. As humans, and yogis, I truly believe we have to make decisions for the greater good of the whole. Sometimes that means recognizing that we blindly believed what we were told by those in charge, but through research on uncensored platforms and listening to discussions between other critical thinkers, it was brought to our attention that things were not the way we thought they were within the comfort zone of not taking the time and energy to question it. Sometimes we have to choose something that is imperfect, so that the parts contained within the whole that are in alignment with what can affect the greatest good for now, can begin to take hold. As a mother for the past 30 years, if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it is you have to pick your battles. We have to be patient and decide what to focus on first and trust in our heart that we inherently know. We must always ask questions, do our best to discern what is actually true from its source and always remain the student.
