Traverse Health Clinic had the pleasure of hosting Michigan Secretary of State's Office Jocelyn Benson last Friday. Clinic leadership met with Benson and provided a tour of the Clinic to provide a deeper understanding of our Mission and core services. After the tour, we had the opportunity to discuss the Clinic's ongoing work, the expansion of the In House Pharmacy to attend to patient needs, along with discussing challenges that we face in delivering care, and lastly, discuss the potential opportunities for collaboration and partnership moving forward with State leadership.

Thank you, Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson and team, for taking the time to meet with us, to discuss hurdles we can overcome to ensure that no one's health gets left behind.

‼️Emergency weather protocols in effect

With wind chills expected to reach a low of -25 today, we have temporarily implemented our daylong winter weekend hours. This allows those who stayed at the shelter last night to remain indoors today. In addition, because Safe Harbor's 74-bed lodging is frequently at or over capacity, we're continuing to offer bus passes to Goodwill Northern Michigan, which recently activated its own hypothermic weather protocol called Code Blue—this allows Goodwill Inn to exceed its typical 126-bed capacity, 60 of which are reserved for families.

Today is EXTREMELY cold, northern Michigan!

If you must be out and about, be sure to bundle up with plenty of layers keeping exposed skin to a minimum.

If you are driving, visibility is limited so make sure to wipe off ALL lights and windows - both for your safety and others on the road!

If you have pets, keep their outside time limited to just potty breaks and be sure to wipe down paws and tummies to remove snow and ice.
