Most people don’t realize how fast plaque can harden… especially with braces 👀

Brackets and wires create extra areas where plaque can build up, and if it is not removed regularly, it can begin to harden in as little as 24 to 48 hours. Once it turns into tartar, it can only be removed professionally.

That is why staying consistent with brushing and flossing during treatment is so important. It helps protect your teeth, your gums, and your final results.

Tip of the week 🦷💜

Avoid hard or sticky foods while in braces, things like caramel, popcorn, gum, and hard candies can cause brackets to break or wires to bend.

Even small breaks can delay your treatment, so being mindful of what you’re eating makes a big difference.
