Following the conclusion of another beautiful exhibit from The Arc Downriver at WCCD, Java Junction will soon feature new artwork. All original paintings are priced at $30, with proceeds going directly to the artist. Notecards are available for $5, with proceeds donated to benefit The Arc Downriver.

New beginnings-

In 1983, a small community of parents came together with a vision: create a place where their children with disabilities could learn, grow, and connect with others. Fast forward to today - Arkay Incorporated is a 501c3 non-profit organization that has grown into a large vocational and skill-building program serving Wayne, Oakland, and Monroe counties.

Arkay is proud to be the parent of Java Junction By Arkay, a distinct program born from our desire to empower individuals with disabilities.
What started as a pipe dream became a reality in 2024, when Java Junction launched as an affiliated supported employment and life skills program. We do more than just sell coffee. We are a mission-driven hybrid of a non-profit and small business.
Java Junction provides a safe and accepting environment where individuals with disabilities can develop real-world skills and thrive.

The name 'Arkay' is rooted in the Greek word 'arche,' symbolizing new beginnings. Our iconic orange sun logo represents the rising sun of a new morning. And that's exactly what we're embracing in 2026.

Under new leadership, Arkay Incorporated is shaking things up to better serve our community. We're revamping our programs, policies, technology, marketing, and overall approach to reflect our values and improve our services. Stay tuned for innovative approaches to supporting individuals with disabilities!
